Well happy Friday to ya – we made it!!
What are your weekend plans? I’ve got a friend coming in town tonight around 6:00 to stay at my house for the baby shower in the morning. I’m seeing some wine being opened around 6:02… After the baby shower on Saturday, I’ve got a wedding shower to go to! These showers are both for girls that I went to high school with – there are about seven of us who have stayed really close since then, so we’ll all be back this weekend. Girly time = the best time!!
I was out of bananas this morning and actually wasn’t feeling too hungry – so I packed an Apple Pie Lara Bar – seriously like eating a piece of apple pie – some grapes and a yogurt for breakfast. For lunch I’ve got some corn, a Braeburn apple and some zucchini slices with ranch dressing to dip them in. Have you ever eaten raw zucchini? It’s really, really good. A very unique texture – you’ll have to try it!

One big happy family:

Isn’t that lunch bag GREAT?! My mom got that for me from the Susan G. Komen + Lean Cuisine lunch bag program. There were three designs to choose from and $5 from each sale went to the organization. Sign up here to get notified when they go on sale again!
I’ve got a lot left on my plate to get ready for this weekend and I’m feeling a little stressed…which got me thinking about stress and overall wellbeing. According to WomensHealth.gov:
Both short and long-term stress can have effects on your body. Research is starting to show the serious effects of stress on our bodies. Stress triggers changes in our bodies and makes us more likely to get sick. It can also make problems we already have worse. It can play a part in these problems:
-
trouble sleeping
-
headaches
-
constipation
-
diarrhea
-
irritability
-
lack of energy
-
lack of concentration
-
eating too much or not at all
-
anger
-
sadness
Darn – and that’s like only ¼ of the list!! Whenever I’m feeling stressed out from having too much to do – I make lists. I love lists. It’s so satisfying when you can cross things off one by one as you get them done. A friend recently told me she put random things on her daily lists like “put on jacket” just so she can have more stuff to cross off…isn’t that great?!
What do you do to cope when you’re feeling stressed out?
Have a FAB day wherever you are!

Stress is a serious thing! I’m glad you posted this list. Might want to add “Rashes” to that. Occasional stress rashes happen to me (embarrassing, but true!)
love the larabar !
i always try to get a good workout in when I am feeling stressed.
When I had a tough summer internship a few years ago, I developed a twitch in my foot. I mentioned it to a fellow intern and she said she’d developed a twitch in her eyebrow! Funny how the body reacts.
My best stress-buster is to escape – by reading or just daydreaming.
Alison: hmmm odd – I’ve had an eye twitch lately…ahh!
