Running in the Hotness

0

It’s the weekend!!! :D

It was HOT here in Iowa today – LOVED that! The little temperature widget on my computer said it was 89 degrees when I left work!! During lunch I took that walk I scheduled into my day and made it down to a lake that’s near my work. There were so many people out, dogs running around, a small sailboat on the lake - it all felt very “summer,” if you will. :)

After work I wanted to take advantage of the hotness by getting a good run in – as you know I love running in the HEAT! I went 4.5 miles however I was NOT properly hydrated for my first “hot” run of the season and was dying of thirst when I made it home! Perhaps the diet pepsi that I slammed right before I left work didn’t help…hmmm…something to remember for next time, no? It was a super tough run, but I’m glad I could fit it into my day.

Tonight we’re having a friend come into town for the weekend, so I’m thinking we might be hitting up some patios!?!? Don’t you just love some good patio sitting time? I do! We’ll get dinner while we’re out so no picture of that, but I was super hungry after my run so I had a Cashew Cookie Lara Bar – this flavor rocks!

I’ll also leave you with some pictures of my daisies and day lilies trying really hard to sprout, and my garden angel – she’s the garden warden! (super exciting stuff, I know!) :)

So friends – STAY TUNED for a special announcement on MONDAY! I’m jazzed about it!

What do you have planned for the weekend? I’ve got an engagement party to attend on Saturday evening, but other than that I think I’ll be running errands and giving the house a good scrubbing…good times! Have a great one!

That is seriously hot for running! I’m excited because it’s sunny outside right now and it might actually get up to about 55 degrees today – doesn’t really compare does it? But I’m in England, so you would only get temps like that in August – sounds amazing!
