Gooood morning! It’s already 55 degrees here in Iowa – go us!
This morning I went old school with my oats:

- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 medium banana
- tosted almonds
- toasted coconut
- sugar-free syrup

Man – classic oatmeal combos are where it’s at! I’ve been saying that a lot recently… This bowl was creamy, sweet, crunchy, filling, delicious, easy…I could go on all day! Do you guys make stove stop oats? Do you want to know how, if you don’t? Let me know and I can post directions if you’d like! What do you usually eat for breakfast?

For lunch I packed a Field of Greens – if I make it, I will eat it. Get it? “Field of Dreams – if you build it they will come”…anyone? Bueller? I used the rest of my air lettuce package and when I took a picture, the lettuce seemed to stretch on for miles…hence my Field of Dreams reference. Anyways, I scattered the rest of my artichoke salsa from dinner last night over the greens and topped with some feta…because feta makes everyting betta!
I paired the salad with an AE Dairy Key Lime Pie Yogurt and some delicious cantaloupe. WHICH I would have gotten to eat for lunch yesterday, but my dear husband snatched my pre-made bowl out of the fridge and ate it. Men. Just kidding, he didn’t know it was for my lunch

As I was pouring my coffee today and stirring in some cream, thoughts of my favorite job I ever had drifted into my head. In highschool I worked as a barista (fancy talk for a gal that makes lattes) at a local coffee shop and it was the best job in the world. I had so much fun making amazing coffee creations, smelling the coffee beans roasted on-site and whipping up the small pastries and dishes that we served…plus I got to work with two of my best friends, which was great fun too. Which got me thinking - what’s your favorite job you’ve ever had?

I would love to know how you make your oatmeal! I love oatmeal…but have been eating the pre-packaged and would like to get away from that!
I would love to know how to make stove top oats!! I love oatmeal, but haven’t ventured out to making my own…i use the packets and the microwave!
My favourite job ever was one of the serving jobs I held my first two years of college. It wasn’t so much the job itself but the people I worked with. All us servers were very close so it made it a really fun place to work! I met one of my very best friends there!
You know me = always eating oatmeal for breakfast.
My fav job had to be when I worked in an ice cream shop! Fav for me, but not my body at times
Your breakfast looks soooo good!!!
I had the same combo of oatmeal today except with a spoonful of chunky peanut butter…it was heaven! I also worked as a barista in high school and LOVED it. But I would say my all-time favorite job was working at a local greenhouse and nursery. I got to be outside with plants all day and it was so fun to help people decide how to decorate their flower beds!
My favourite job was a clinical research project — interesting, varied, and great co-workers.
That yogurt looks SO good! I love key lime.
I’d love some stove top oats tips…or for you to make me that for breakfast, it looks delish
Your field of greens looks fabulous. That’s actually my favorite sort of lunch, with a little chicken thrown in there too.
When I was in high school, there was no such thing as a barista LOL! No fancy coffee drinks back then. Gosh, I really didn’t think I was all that old either!
My favorite job was working at the Como Park Conservatory and Gardens in Saint Paul. I helped the gardeners take care of the plants and got to work outside all day. It involved some awesome people watching and great coworkers.
Bring on the oatmeal directions. As I am contemplating this oatmeal for breakfast idea, one of my thoughts was….I have no idea how to make it. Silly I know…but if you’ve never done it how can you know???? Anyway, you must have read my mind because I was going to ask you how you did it. You must not only be an amazing blogger but also a mind reader!
Lately, breakfast of choice has been toast with almond butter, but I really need to learn how to love oatmeal, not just tolerate it.
Any suggestions?
KEY LIME PIE REVOLUTION! For sure the BEST yogurt flavor. Try the Fiber 1 brand. It’s SO creamy…like a dessert not a healthy snack. No Hickory Root too…!!!
PS – I got some figs today at the store! Love them:)
And my fav job is for sure the barista gig also:) LOVED IT. What were we thinking when we quit?
Girl. Barney Butter Barney Butter Barney Butter. I want to try it so badly! Does the fact that I’m a college student in my last days of classes and that I’m already drunk by 6:45 count in my favor? I love your blog!
Definitely give stove top oats a whirl – I can’t stomach microwave oats – they are completely different than the ones made on the stove, I promise you!!
