Three Question Thursday

22

Well hello!

My morning walk was absolutely gorgeous. The rising sun made the clouds pink and orange, the temperature was perfect for shorts and we even walked by the most fragrant lilac bushes ever…ahhhh :) But look at the sky now!? Not even an hour later and we’ve got dark ominous clouds…hmmm…

Oh well – I think we’re supposed to have T-storms on and off throughout the day, so maybe it’ll clear off by the time I’m off work!

For breakfast I went old-school. Banana, Almond and Toasted Coconut Oatmeal. My mix had:

  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • dash of vanilla & cinnamon
  • sliced banana
  • toasted almonds & coconut
  • drizzle of sugar-free syrup

Peeeerfectly satisfying :) I even went “old-school” on the photos. Here’s some sepia action! (my favorite color setting, btw)

And normal color, for good measure.

For lunch I packed:

  • Sliced Braeburn apple
  • Sliced strawberries (yep, those $.99 ones!)
  • Peanut Butter Lara Bar

Mmmmm, not really sure if this is going to hold me over, but we’ll see. I don’t eat all the parts of my lunch at once though. I like to space them out – one part around 12, another around 1:30 and if I’ve packed a third component, I’ll usually eat that at 3. Fingers crossed for fullness!

So I’ve dubbed today “Three Question Thursday” because, I love asking questions. I might make this a regular thing too…so get prepared to spill your guts every week :) Today’s questions:

  1. What’s your favorite board/card game?
  2. What beauty/skin/hair product could you not live without?
  3. Would you rather live in your #1 dream location and never travel again, or, live in a not so cool place but be able to travel whenever you wanted?

My answers are:

  1. BLURT! We play this board game at every family get together…and let me tell you, it gets rowdy! Sooooo much fun!!
  2. Chapstick and Prescriptive’s Comfort Lotion. This stuff saved my face – call or stop by any Prescriptive’s counter (found at Nordstroms, Macy’s, etc.) for a free sample!!!
  3. Ugh, I’ll admit it. I’d rather live in a not so cool place and get to travel whenever I want. However…did you read about this guy?! Are you kidding me?

FYI – tomorrow’s Friday in case you didn’t know!!!

    (1) Cranium – do you have that in the states? You play it in teams and it has aspects of Pictionary, Charades, and some General Knowledge and Word Games. Love it!! But waaaay too competitive – need to rein it in or my friends will cut me off like they did with monopoly!
    (2) My Kiehls lip balm, and my Palmers Cocoa Butter, for the cheapest most intensive body moisturiser available!
    (3) Definitely definitely a not so cool place and travel (although I’m lucky enough to love Bristol, where I live) – how could anyone ever imagine staying in one place for the rest of their lives and never travelling the world?!

Hi Kristin! Really enjoy your blog- I’m going to add you to my blogroll!

    1. I have so many favorites, it is hard to choose…I love Catch Phrase and Apples to Apples- those are two of my favorites right now! I’ve never heard of BLURT – I’ll have to try it…I love board games in general.

    2. I could not live without Philosophy products- hope in a jar and purity made simple.

    3. I’d definitely rather live somewhere not too cool and travel a lot- I couldn’t give up traveling!

    Thanks for the cool questions!

    (1) I love pictionary and blurt as well. My boyfriend and I get really competitive when it comes to games! I’ll have to try Cranium though, I’ve never heard of that one and it sounds like fun.
    (2) I love love love my Bumble and Bumble Coconut Shampoo and also am addicted to Kiehls lip balm.
(3)I agree with everyone else, I would much rather live in a not so cool place but be able to travel whenever I felt like it.

    Great questions!

    1. My favourite board game is Cranium Pop 5. We always have so much fun playing it! My current favourite card game has to be Phase 10 (geez, what’s with the “number” games?). My husband recently heard of it on a trip and we picked it up. A lot of fun!

    2. I could not live without chapstick. None of the fancy stuff, but plain old Blistex chapstick. Also, face cream. My favourite is Vichy since it doesn’t even feel like you’re wearing anything.

    3. That’s a toughy! I’d rather live in a not so cool place and travel and then RETIRE in my dream place. Early, of course.

    3. I would rather live in a not so cool place and travel whenever I want. I LOVE to travel like you do!

    Hi Kristin,

Those chicken tenders look GREAT!! I’m going to try them real soon.

    1) Right now my favorite game is Things, it’s newer and so fun to play in groups. It asks a question : “things you shouldn’t say to your best friend” and then everyone answers and you have to guess who said what.

    2) I couldn’t live without CO Bigelow tinted mint lip gloss (Bath and Bodyworks), it makes your lips feel great while the mint keeps you fresh and adds a little color.

    3) I think boring place and travel a lot!!

I love question #3 because me and my boyfriend just moved to a much nicer city with better weather and in a more central location for school. It’s hard being SO far away from family (12 hour drive home) but I love the place. Only problem is, there’s not much for jobs or money here. Especially not compared to where we came from.

We’ve discussed it a lot and we think after we’re done school we’ll move back home because then at least we can both get good paying jobs and have extra money to travel lots! Even though I love the idea of living in a big city and warm climate for the rest of my life, I love the idea of travelling everywhere even more!!

1: Apples to Apples – but only if you’re allowed to argue why your match is better than someone else’s. It makes it a lot funnier.
2: Chapstick! I have at least 15 tubes – most are strawberry or cherry – I don’t like the original flavor it just feels like wax.
3: I’d definitely live in the most beautiful place. I don’t actually like to travel that much (don’t hate me!) I’m much more of a homebody.

I just found your blog and love it!!! I haven’t lived in Iowa since pre-school (both Ames and Iowa City), but my entire very large family lives there. Though I now live in the Southeast, IA still seems a lot like home. :)

I’ve GOT to try the tropical oats soon.

Hey Kristin…found your blog through your sweet mom. I’ve really enjoyed the photos, comments, and recipes. Can’t wait to try some of them. This is so fun!! Here are my answers:

Game: Life Twists & Turns (one of my favorite games to play with our daughter)

Can’t-live-without products: (Hair) Biolage Daily Leavin-In Tonic, (Lips) Burt’s Bees

Place: Definitely live in the not-so-cool place, and be able to travel to MANY different places. I’d hate to confine myelf to one place, even if it was amazing.
