Remember how I was just saying yesterday how Iowa weather changes in the blink of an eye?!
The weather was absolutely gorgeous allll day and Ben was supposed to get off work early (around 4:00,) so we were going to go get a happy hour drink on a patio downtown with some friends. My, my, my…how quickly plans change. 4:30 found me Benless and driving home in the pouring rain! Rain so hard you could barely see a car 10 feet ahead of you. I was sad.
No Ben, no patio, no friends, no happy hour.
So, I came home and poured a “feel sorry for myself” glass of wine.

But wouldn’t you know…honestly – FOUR minutes after I took these pictures:

I took THIS picture:

I mean…COME ON.
Iowa, you win. You fooled me. I’m going to go have my own happy hour now…

Same thing happens here. Today the sun was out all day and it was beautiful. I was so excited to grill and eat outside, and then as soon I as I left work, it got cloudy and then rained. Bummer!
I think I should have poured myself a glass of wine too.
Haha, I’m sipping on a glass of vino right now as I read this post! That’s what Friday nights are for, right?
PS: I opened up your blog and made the chicken fingers, fries and asparagus that you made the other night. It was SOOOO good, omg. I made it last night and had leftovers for lunch today and I just cannot believe how amazing it was!! So, thank you
Ha! I am in central Iowa also and my hubby was outside yesterday afternoon doing yard work when the rain hit. Lets just say, not a happy camper at all! LOL
Btw: Love your blog and all your food
Ugh – it was just awful!!! Thanks for reading!!
Oh yay! I’m so glad it worked out!!
Darn, I hate it when grill-out plans get ruined. I think that’s even worse than when happy hour plans get ruined!!!
