I'm Gushing…

Good morning!

So I wanted to tell you guys a little bit more about Zumba since my post was a quick one last night! My teacher was amazing first of all – she is a former NFL cheerleader/dancer – and she can WORK IT! She had routines that were FUN to do and were set to awesome, pumping, Latin music – with some Britney Spears worked in…seriously, Britney makes everything better!! As I mentioned last night, this class was about letting go. I could feel about five minutes in that my shoulders were still tight and I was watching myself in the mirror making sure I was doing all the “moves” right…then I said, you know what…screw it. I just completely let go and had FUN. I was seriously that girl in class laughing and smiling the whole time – I can honestly tell you I have never done that in an exercise class! That’s the thing though – this didn’t feel like boring, ugh-I-have-to-do-this exercise! The routines were fresh, the music was inspiring…ugh it was just the best – I’m DEFINITELY going back!! Oh, and I sweat my buns off – seriously, I was drenched!

Ok, so to recap, Zumba = awesomeness. You all need to try it. Oh, and my pregnant sister-in-law who I went with, ROCKED it – she was smokin’ hot mama!

For breakfast today, I had what I’ve been craving for a long time – Apple Crisp Oatmeal! My bowl had:

  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup each of water and skim milk
  • 1 medium Braeburn apple, chopped
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • toasted almonds & coconut
  • sprinkle of cinnamon sugar
  • splash of vanilla and cinnamon

Ahhh sugar, I love you :) No seriously, there isn’t that much sugar in here, but it tasted sweet as pie! Well, no, sweet as Apple Crisp!! MMMM!!!

The steam fogged up my lens!

For lunch I had a salad version of last night’s VeggiePatch Falafel Ball wrap! I combined:

I mowed (pronounced “mao-wed”) my wrap last night and I expect to do the same with this salad! This dressing literally took 10 seconds to put together and it is so tasty! And those falafel balls – so spicy – not hot spicy, but flavor spicy. I could eat about 26 of these, easy!

I also packed a cinnamon roll Yoplait Light yogurt. CINNAMON ROLL!! I’m psyched to try this flavor :)

Tonight we are celebrating my Dad’s birthday, which is actually tomorrow, with a grill out over here at our house. Can’t say too much about it, because Pop’s reads the blog – hi Pops!! :D I can’t wait to give him his gift, he is going to be SO pumped!

Do you like giving or receiving gifts better? Obviously it’s great to receive gifts, but I get such a kick out of giving people gifts that I know they will just absolutely love!!

Oh, I finally remembered to take my camera on my morning mom walk – enjoy the lilacs!!

Soooo fragrant…some woman drove by and looked at my mom and I like we were crazy because our noses were buried in the flowers!

You will have to let me know how the Cinnamon Roll yogurt is – that sounds quite intriguing!

I’ve never tried Zumba, but now I am thinking I might have to go and give it a shot! Have a fabulous day~

I love lilacs, they smell so great.
I love giving gifts too, it’s so much fun to put a gift together and then see the person’s reaction.

I usually have more fun giving gifts than getting them (not that i don’t love a good present though…). It’s always fun to give the people you love something special and to see them happy.

The Zumba sounds like so much fun! I saw that one of the gyms around here has it advertised… I need to find out if I can pay for individual classes or have to be a member. Most of the time I do the elliptical in the morning at home while I catch up on my TV.

Beautiful lilac pictures, too – I would have had my nose in the flowers, too!

Love the lilacs! They’re all over MPls now too.

I agree that Britney makes everything more fun…even though she’s crazy. I listened to her on my run this morning.
