Good afternoon everyone – hope your Memorial Day is going well!!
The weather kind of took a turn for the worst – rain, wind and chilliness, boo. Luckily though, Ben’s family got all the grilling done before the rain started so we had a Memorial Day feast ready no problemo!
To start with, we had chips and dip – this is no ordinary dip though. Oh, no. This is Ben’s Dad’s faaaavorite dip to make and is sooo easy and delicious! It’s only got two ingredients: 1. Cream cheese 2. Sweet onion and hot pepper relish. Combine these and serve with Fritos. They have to be Fritos too, we tried with tortilla chips and it’s just not the same.
The combo of the salty, crunchy Fritos and sweet, creamy dip is OOTW (out of this world.) YUMMM! I could have eaten the whole bowl and basket, but, I restrained myself

Our main menu consisted of grilled pork tenderloin, fresh steamed green beans, roasted asparagus and fresh fruit – cantaloupe, pineapple, watermelon, black berries and strawberries. Probably the freshest fruit salad I’ve ever had!
I’ve never had grilled pork tenderloin before, it was awesome! The crust that the grill gave the pork was reeeeally good. I might have to try it in the future! As always, it was a delicious meal – Ben’s Mom is an outstanding cook and his Dad is a superior dip maker.
For dessert we had fruity pebble bars that one of Ben’s Mom’s co-workers made – they were sooooo sweet!!!
Sweet enough to where I was satisfied with one. Which we decided was a good thing, because usually I want to eat about 3/4 of the pan of regular rice krispie treats!
Oh, here’s a picture of Ben’s family’s dog – Emma. She has got this crack addiction to a frisbee that she literally just stares at for hours on end. Here she is staring…
Why are dogs so funny!?
Do you have a dog, cat…or both? Ben and I really want a dog, but we’re just not ready for the responsibility that comes along with the little fur ball…maybe in 2010!?

That’s a miniature schnauzer, right?
We have two, both girls, and they are the BEST dogs hands down! If you do decide to get a dog, I totally recommend them because they’re really easy to train and friendly! (Plus they don’t yap like yorkie used to!)
Your meal looks yummy as always!
Aww cute doggie! My sister has a miniature schnauzer. Such great dogs.
I’m a cat person myself. And as I write this I’m playing fetch with my younger cat. Never knew a cat to play fetch before, but she loves it (and came up with it all on her own). Pets are awesome.
Glad to hear you were still able to grill all the food! That dip sounds awesome! Those fruity pebble bars are so cute! I remember I used to beg my Mom to buy them for me when I was little
Haha, that dog sounds too funny! We have 2 cats. We just got the second one. I’m generally a cat person, but I think it would be fun to have a dog.
So sorry about the rain. We were sunny, but it was very windy.
I have a dog and a cat. I’m definitely more of a dog person. I got my cat b/c I wanted a pet and couldn’t get a dog at my apartment. I love my cat, but she’s stand-offish and not always the best company. My dog on the other hand, wants to spend all his time with me. And constantly shows me just how much he adores me. It’s hard not to love a creature like that.
Fruity pebble bars! OMG!
When I was in high school, I was on the tennis team, and before matches at home, the moms would always bring food (fruit, sandwiches, etc.) and one mom always brought those. I loved them…so much more than regular rice krispie treats! Mmmmm
what a great dinner
The fruit pebbles bars are really clever!
I have a dog! I am definitely a dog person. When ever I go to anyones house who has a dog they get atteched to me!
I tagged you in a survey thing

Two doggies! I’m not a cat person… plus I’m allergic
Dinner looks great!
We have both dogs and cats – 2 of each. They are a handful, but easy to train if you’re dedicated. The hard part is choosing a breed! There are so many out there and they all have different personalities, so you have to figure out what exactly you want.
From my perspective, the cats can be way worse of monsters than the dogs! LOL!
I have a Boston Terrier, his name is Mr. Bones and he’s AWESOME. Bostons are really really high energy dogs but they’re small so they can really FLY. His funniest trick is when he starts running around like crazy in the living room and eventually ends up running on the back cushions of the couch suspended sideways. It’s a little matrix-y, and so funny!
