GOOD Friday morning to you all!

Well, Ben becomes a little less wise today…he’s getting his wisdom teeth out!! Which means I’ll be playing nurse all day and working from home. Poor guy – getting your wisdom teeth out is the worst because you can’t eat…and yeah, the pain stinks too! I’m seeing lots of soup, pudding and peanut butter in his future!

We had to head out around the same time as I usually do for work, so breakfast was right on time for: Banana, Fig & Coconut Oatmeal!

Remember those pistachios? Well Swanson Health Products also makes certified organic Black Mission Figs and Unsulphured Coconut Shreds…ummmmm oatmeal’s perfect partners!!

IMG_1975IMG_1971

Just like the pistachios – both these products were simply “just” foods. They tasted just as they should and just like what they were. No weird chemicals, no added preservatives. They were so fresh tasting!

So to my “just” oatmeal (I’m still out of milk!!!) I added a small banana, a couple of tablespoons of the coconut shreds and 4 black mission figs.

Mmmmm…I don’t know if I’d ever describe oatmeal as fresh tasting – hearty, creamy, sweet, filling – yes. But with the addition of these two ingredients, I can now add “fresh” to the list :) Yummmmm!

Mount Oatmeal est. May 29, 2009. :) This coconut was SO fresh – I can’t get over how “coconutty” it tasted!

I ate my oatmeal with some delicious caramel coffee. I love drinking coffee at home because I get to use one of my cool Starbucks mugs! I collect these from all the places I travel to – here’s my mug from San Diego! (I miss you San Diego!)

Seeing as how I’m working from home today – I get to post lunch from home today too – yipee! I’m also going to post a little shout-out to someone about my weekend plans too, so stay tuned for that. :)

Have a great morning everyone – see you at lunch!

I collect these Starbucks mugs – but tell me – do you collect anything?

in regards to your last post — how do men get away with this stuff? they just do! but really, half the time the junk food they eat, isn’t really that appetizing to me anyway.

today’s post — I actually don’t collect anything. Oh wait! that’s a lie, vases but i haven’t bought any in a few years. so really, i don’t collect anything. I’d like to think i’m a minimalist!

Ok, a couple of things. First of all, good luck with playing nurse to your husband unless he is MUCH different than most men. :) Patience is a virtue right? The 2nd thing doesn’t have anything to do with this post but rather the one that dealt with your sugar cookies. I was blessed enough to be given one of your cookies from your mom and it was delicious!! Amazingly so. I would love for you to make some for me for a baby shower I am having in August if you are for hire. Seriously. 3rd thing (I lied when I said “a couple of things”), I had a rather rough emotional day the other day and so lo and behold, my daughter Heidi dropped by work yesterday to bring me some of the “Beanis” dip she made with your recipe to cheer me up. I devoured it and can’t wait to make it for myself. Oh my goodness…..so fresh tasting and so so so so good. Ok, that’s it! Have a nice weekend!

Ugh. Getting out the wisdom teeth is rough. Though I remember eating solid foods after a few hours… even though I probably wasn’t supposed to :)

I collect all sorts of found objects that I always hope to use for bookmaking (and only sometimes do) – bottlecaps, wine corks, fabric from old dresses, old photographs, you name it.

Aw, poor Ben. I hated getting my wisdom teeth out. I looked like a messed up chipmunk for daaaays.

Yum that oatmeal looks great! The coconut sounds really good. Most of the coconut I’ve ever had has tasted really dry.

I collect mugs. Every time we go on vacation, or even just some I like I buy. I have a cupboard full of mugs. Some hold more sentimental value then others (my very favorite is one from Disneyland) but i equally love them all.
Where do you buy the Swanson’s stuff? I’ve never seen them and your oatmeal this morning looked delicious!
