Going Mid-Evil

0

Good evening Friends! How was your Sunday?

After dilly-dallying around the house for awhile, I cleaned my kitchen counters…then went mid-evil on the kitchen floor. I scrubbed that baby till it shined like the surface of a mirror. Then I went even more mid-evil and scrubbed the baseboards with a toothbrush and bleach water…germs don’t stand a chance at Casa de Iowa Girl Eats!!! I felt much better afterwards and called my mom to go on a walk!!

We hit the trail for a 4.25 mile speed walk in the bright sunshine and cool breeze – it was awesome and a perfect way to spend an hour on my Sunday afternoon :)

We continued mother/daughter time with a trip to the grocery store to get groceries, obvi, but also to pick out some flowers for this gorgeous planter that my parents gave me for Christmas last year!

We – and when I say “we” I really mean my Mom – filled it with a pot containing:

  • Petunias
  • Marigolds
  • Some spikey plant…
  • Vincas

What can I say, the woman loves to plant!

Voila – Flower pot!

Here it is through a field of Daisies:

We’re going to by some mossy filler and put that around the pot so you just see the iron planter. I can’t wait ‘til the little flower roots take hold and fill the container with bright blooms…flowers just brighten my mood like nothing else :) Thanks for helping Mom!

All that watching flowers being planted made me hungry, so I took it indoors and had some of Ben’s lunch leftovers – Chicken Caesar Salad Chalupas from Granite City – our favorite restaurant ever!

Chicken Caesar Salad Chalupas are:

Baked flour tortillas brushed with Caesar dressing and topped with sliced grilled chicken, roma tomatoes and melted mozzarella cheese. Accompanied with a side Caesar salad for topping.

They are freaking delicious and could eeeeeasily be replicated at home…why haven’t I done that yet, by the way??

Granite City is our favorite place for watching games bellied up at the bar, having a frosty mug out on the big patio, or eating our way through the most enchanting Sunday Brunch Buffet that ever was. Yes, I said enchanting…that is the best word to describe it. SO YUMMY! Look for GC to be making major appearances on the blog this summer!

Well, the season finale of The Hills is on tonight!!! I am such a sucker for trashy, not even real television. I just can’t help myself!!!

Have a GREAT night everyone!
