You guys…I saw a snake.
I was running on the trail when all of the sudden I saw a long, brown, squishy, nasty snake tail slither right into the brush…EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! It was so disgusting!!! I wigged out and didn’t know what to do…I’ve never seen a snake in real life!! Well, I think I saw one once in 7th grade, but you know 7th graders…they always make stuff up, so I most likely didn’t even see it! Ugh…I felt so nasty and thought every stick and rustle in the brush after that was another one…GROSS!!!
Even now at home, I’m certain that around every corner I turn and behind every door I open – they’ll be a disgusting coiled up snake ready to sink it’s snake fangs into my juicy thigh…BLEH!!!!!!!!!
Anyways, to make myself feel better…I needed some carbs. So, I made Churro Pancakes!!
I used:
- 1 cup fat-free Krusteaz buttermilk pancake mix
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- tooons of cinnamon
- splash of vanilla
- sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top
I cooked these babies up on my flat-top skillet and in about 7 minutes, I was in sweet, fluffy, churro pancake heaven
I just love pancakes – but really, what’s not to love?
This Krusteaz brand mix is great too – all you have to do is add water!
To add some freshness to the meal, I also had some sweet, juicy cantaloupe.
It’s my favorite melon-type fruit, I think.
I honestly do feel better now. Thanks p-cakes
Oh by the way, when I saw the snake I was on a 5.15 mile run/walk. It wasn’t on the training schedule, but it was so beautiful outside I just had to take advantage!

Ok, so obviously snakes traumatize me. I’m pretty sure it’s a basic human instinct to be afraid of them. What creepy, crawly thing are you most afraid of?!?!?!?!

haha i saw this on twitter and i thought you had fallen! you are so funny.
hahaha what you said about 7th graders made me laugh! So true!!!
I seriously can’t stand snakes. They are probably the worst things to me! Yuck!!!
OMG I want those pancakes!!! I think the weekend would be the perfect time for them too
The pancakes look gorgeous!
I don’t love snakes for sure…but I would take a snake over a spider any day!! I hate spiders!
Those pancakes look great! I remember lusting after them the first time you posted them, too
I am deathly afraid of roaches!!!!! The word is even hard for me to type they freak me out so much. I stepped on one barefoot once and almost had a heart attack!
Ooh, that’s so scary! I’m glad it didn’t bite you. Your pancakes look soo delicious! I love the cinnamon-sugar addition.
I’m scared of roaches! They have some NASTY ones in Arizona– they’re huge! I’ve never seen a scorpion, but if I ever saw one in AZ, I’m sure I’d panic. So scary!
I hate spiders. HATE them. Hate even thinking of them.
I don’t mind snakes though. I handle them for the zoo all the time.
I HATE snakes with a passion. If I see one dead on the road I have to walk around it. I have had nightmares about them, where I wake up looking under the bed. I could never wear snakeskin shoes, belt or a purse – I would be sick. As a joke my husband rented ‘Snakes on a Plane’. We were about 30 minutes into it and I had to go upstairs. I felt like I was going to be sick! As you might be able to tell, I don’t like snakes!!!!
I’m with Island Girl Eats! I can’t TAKE snakes!!!
I don’t love spiders/roaches, but I can take them. I think it’s partly because if they really get in your way, you can just squish them. A snake? Won’t try squishing one of those any time soon….
I’m with Anne K above – roaches make me squeamish. I once sat down to find one on the bench next to me *shudder* I hope I don’t catch too many in Arizona this summer!
OMG! I would have freaked out! I’m terrified of snakes!!
SPIDERS!!!!!!!!!! I have been known to barricade myself in my bedroom and call my now husband (but then boyfriend) hysterically screaming and crying because there was a spider in the hallway! (a bit over dramatic in hindsight, but a totally real reaction at the time!)
Those pancakes look sensational! I kind of want some now…. A-MAZING!
I stumbled across your blog this morning – beautiful pics and healthy eats to boot. Awesome job!
SNAKES are by far the worst! I almost tripped over one a few years ago jogging on a greenway – needless to say I didn’t use that route for quite some time!
OMG good for you for even attempting to watch SOAP! I can’t even imagine trying to watch!
