Omelets & Oatmeal a la B&K

0

Good morning everyone!

Well it’s so gray and rainy here that I didn’t have the sunshine to wake me up – and I slept in until 9:30! I was going to go to the Farmer’s Market with Ben and my Mom, but those plans have been scraped because of the rain, so I think I’ll take some of the day to run errands, etc. Nothing like getting stuff done on a Saturday!

I was pretty hungry when I got up – it had been over 12 hours since I had eaten anything! So I had…you guessed it…a bowl of oatmeal!

In the mix:

  • 1/2 cup each of oats, water and skim milk
  • 1 medium banana
  • 2 mission figs
  • 2 dried apricots
  • 2 T unsulphured coconut shreds
  • drizzle of sugar-free syrup

It actually felt a little strange eating oatmeal on a Saturday, if you can believe it! My eating habits are always so different on the weekends because of things like sleeping in, running errands, being out of town etc. Not today though!

I was a happy camper :)

Ben also wanted to share his omelet creation: Eggs, Turkey & Cheese!

In the pan…

I’m feeling like after I run all my errands, I want to see a movie! Some of my favorite rainy day activities include going to the bookstore to lounge and read, going shopping (obvi!) and sitting inside a dark theater with my sweetie to see a good movie. Now I just need to pick which movie I want see…hmmmm… Here are the choices:

  • Land of the Lost
  • Night at the Museum
  • The Hangover

Ok, wow! I didn’t realize there were so few choices out there!!! What do you think I should see?

Have a GREAT day everyone!!

Morning! I think the Hangover would be quite funny to see. We are going to see Terminator this afternoon. It’s my husbands choice not mine – it’s his birthday!

I thought the first Night at the Museum was cute, but I just love Ben Stiller! Have a great Saturday!

Wow, I could really relate to your post today! I’m an Iowa girl too and had been planning on checking out the Farmer’s Market in Ames this morning until my plans were spoiled by rainy weather. However, all was not lost, since I decided to be lazy and scroll through my bookmarks. (I’d bookmarked your page a few weeks ago and have been an oatmeal fiend ever since!) I’m glad I did, because I spotted your recipe for churro pancakes – believe it or not I even had Krusteaz mix in my cupboard – and I loved them! My boyfriend even said that he likes them better than regular pancakes, so I have the okay to make them again. :) I enjoy your posts and especially all of the yummy-looking pictures!

Great breakfasts, both of you! ;) I’m partial to those delicious oats, though :D

Sorry it’s a rainy day, but a movie sounds like a good idea. I am so bad at keeping up with new movies, but I’ve heard The Hangover was good!

If you’re in the mood for a comedy I would DEFINITELY recommend The Hangover! I saw it last night and it was one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen.

I have not seen any movies for a really long time so I don’t have any suggestions!!

It’s been pretty awful outside here as well, so we’ve spent most of the day inside!
