Warm & Delicious is Always a Winner

Good morning!! :D

Well I successfully used easy wakeup tips #1, 3 and 5 this morning to get up and go on my morning Mom walk! I’m telling you, the smell of fresh, warming, hot coffee sitting there waiting for you when you wakeup is just fantastic! It was actually perfect because it’s kind of chilly out there – 56 degrees! It’s been kind of cold for the past four days or so…what’s up with that?

Continuing my warm and delicious theme – and channeling my love for my favorite fall dessert Apple Crisp – I made Apple Crisp Oatmeal!

In the mix:

  • 1/2 cup each of oats, skim milk & water
  • 1 Braeburn apple, chopped fine
  • Splash of vanilla and cinnamon
  • 2 t brown sugar
  • ~2 T toasted coconut
  • ~2 T toasted almonds

THIS COMBO IS SO GOOD!!!!

Mmmmm, so sweet and delicious…and a lot more waistline friendly than regular Apple Crisp!

For lunch I packed a repeater of last nights din-din as well as one of my favorite afternoon pick me up snacks:

If you squeeze a little lime juice over your avocados, they stay nice and green. If you forget, it’s ok – they might not look too pretty, but they’ll still taste good!

These grapes are from the same bunch as these – and are the snappiest, crunchiest, sweetest grapes I’ve probably ever had…no lie!

Isn’t it weird how bags of grapes are sometimes hit or miss? This bag was so delish, but a lot of times I’ll get a bag of all squishy grapes…not good times :(

Alright friends, I’m off to start my day. Hey – it’s Hump Day! Make it a great one!!!

What’s your favorite dessert of all time?

My fave fall dessert is for sure apple crisp, but I think my fave dessert of all time is…a warm, chewy, gooey, chocolaty Caramel Brownie!!!

Kind of like this…HOLY COW!!

Those brownies look amazing… but not quite as good as the Chipotle bol!

Ohhh girl, that is a tough question! Ice cream is my favorite food of all time, but I think strawberry shortcake might take the cake, especially in summertime!

    Have a good day!

Your oat combos are always so fabulous! I totally know what you mean about the hit or miss grapes. Sometimes they’re AMAZING, and sometimes they’re just meh.

Those brownies look so gooey and yummy! My favorite dessert would have to be CHEESECAKE! Mmmmmmm!

My fav dessert would be cheese and crackers. When we lived in the UK that is what you would have for dessert and also sweet things too. Soooooo good! A nice way to finish off a meal.

I love Chipotle! This is referring to your past posts: I am definitely going to have to make a frittata. I’ve never had one before, but yours look A-MAZING!

We got some good grapes this week too. I’m guilty of squeezing my grapes in the grocery store to make sure they’re not mushy :)

Ice cream is my favorite dessert because it pairs with so many other desserts—brownies, crisps, cobblers, cake, the list goes on and on!

Cookie dough! :-) And ice cream (preferably with cookie dough, but I don’t discriminate). Those brownies look AMAZING. I have never had a caramel brownie….

Hey! Thanks for the shout out!

I am more of a fruit crisp girl, like blackberry, (my grandmother made the best cobblers!) but when it comes to chocolate, these caramel brownies ARE my fav.

Heating a square in the microwave for 8 seconds is the key to that fresh out of the oven taste :)
