PB&J’s Got Nothing on These Duos!

9

Welcome to your weekend! Even the pouring rain can’t dampen this girl’s spirit! Wohoo!

I came home from work STAR-ving (yeah, fruit doesn’t have a ton of protein!) so I paired up a fabulous duo for a snack: Grilled Cheese and Ketchup!

This was the meltiest, cheesiest grilled cheese ever! Actually, it wasn’t even grilled it was broiled! I topped a slice of WW toast with slices of provolone and muenster cheeses then popped it under the broiler until it was brown and bubbly!

Everything’s better with ketchup…that’s a fact, Jack! (Ben is shouting at me to give him credit for this, because I am indeed copying what he had for dinner last night!)

Now we’re off for another great duo – Beer and Blueberries! Yep – we’re off to our favorite restaurant, Granite City, to try the Blueberry Ale!

…featuring a subtle blueberry and fruity flavor, this unique brew is made with 100% real blueberries.”

Oh yum, oh yum. Do you like fruity beers? I must say – I think they are VERY tasty! Framboise Lambic anyone?

I’ve never tried a fruity beer! I am generally not a beer fan but maybe a blueberry ale could change my mind!

As a fellow Iowan & Granite City fan, I’m glad to see you are going to try the blueberry beer. We went to our GC last weekend to try the blueberry beer & they were having problems with the lines/keg. I have heard the blueberry is great mixed half&half with the northern lights if you find it too sweet. I had the Northern Lights with a splash of orange juice. I liked it more than my favorite, Blue Moon! I am literally drooling as I type this.

Ooh, grilled cheese and ketchup? Interesting! I love ketchup with anything though (especially Annie’s ketchup–so flavorful!), so I’m sure I’d like it :D

Subtle blueberry flavor is key. One beer, brewed in Long Island of all places, tasted like carbonated blueberry juice. Not good eats.
