I’ve Been Juiced!

36

Friends!

Remember when I told you about the photo shoot I was a part of a couple weeks ago? Well it was for the cover of Juice – a weekly “lifestyle” type newspaper for 24-35 year olds in my area!! Check out homegirl:

j0708cover

They interviewed and photographed me for their “Foodie” issue. I mean, what an opportunity – they even plugged the blog! Check out the articles online, here and here.

PLUS Ben was featured too! Look at him chopping his little heart out (and me looking a little insane) :) He was such a good sport about being involved in this whole thing…I love that man…

Thanks for all the kind comments from the people that saw the article/newspaper/online stuff yesterday!!

Alrighty, moving on!

So I am on a workout when I wake up ROLL – two days in a row baby! I can’t tell you how satisfying it was yesterday afternoon when I started dreading an afternoon work out, to be able to remind myself that, oh wait – I already got that done! That is one of the best feelings in the world – boo yah!

So this morning I completed the same workout as yesterday – a 1.5 mile walk with my Mom, followed by a 3 mile run. Done and done.

I’m happy to report that my breakfast sandwich + fruit combo did extremely well at keeping me full until lunchtime yesterday. But, I didn’t feel like repeating this morning, so I made a big Green Monster smoothie instead :)

 IMG_4333

In the mix:

  • 2 big handfuls baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 T peanut butter
  • 2 big handfuls of ice

If you’re new to the blog and are scared at what you’re currently seeing – refer here! It’s not so scary – I promise!

 IMG_4336

Shout-out to my neighbors to the North.

IMG_4340

So cold, so refreshing, so energizing – I’m ready for my day :)

 IMG_4341

Oh but first, lunch! I packed a BBQ Turkey English Muffin Sandwich.

IMG_4349

This guy was made with:

  • Roasted turkey
  • Muenster cheese
  • BBQ sauce
  • Whole wheat English muffin

IMG_4348

BBQ sauce is one of my favorite condiments. What’s your fave? Ben has a really weird thing for ketchup…as in, he loves it more than anyone really should. He told me he used 12 ketchup packets for his burger at lunch yesterday. What?!

IMG_4347

I also packed my go-to, lunch sidekick – a sliced Braeburn apple.

Ok – it’s time to head to work. I have a ton of stuff to get accomplished today…because I’m off on Friday! Details to come! :D :D :D

~~~~~
Holy cow – is it three question Thursday already?! My, my, my how the weeks just fly by these days. Alright, read on and spill your guts…
1. If you had to be one age for the rest of your life, what age would you be?
2. Do you prefer chocolate desserts or fruity desserts?
3. If you could be a member of the opposite sex for 3 days, would you do it?If yes, what would you do?
My answers:
1. Wow, that
’s tough…and I even made up the question! I would say 18 because that was one of the best years of my life – I went to college, was on my own, could do whatever I wanted, etc. But if I had to be one age just based on AGE and not past experiences, I’d say 25. Metabolism is still decent, you can rent a car and well, there’s just really not a whole lot that you CAN’T do at the age of 25!
2. Another toughie…9 times out of 10 I would definitely choose chocolate. However, if there’s apples and/or crisp involved – well, it’s a different story.
3. This is very un-characteristically, un-adventurous of me – but…no, I wouldn’t! I really have no desire to see what it’s like to be a man…is that weird?!
Have a fab Thursday, and remember fellow board game lovahs – the BLURT! Board Game Giveaway ends today at 12:00pm Central. DON’T WAIT – GET YOUR BLURT ON for a chance to win 1 of 2 games signed by the inventor of BLURT! himself!
    That is so cool that you were featured in the mag! Love the pics, you are such a cutie! Now on to the questions.
    1. If you had to be one age for the rest of your life, what age would you be?
    Well as I am nearing 23 err’ day. I will stick with 22 for the time being!
    2. Do you prefer chocolate desserts or fruity desserts?
    Chocolate 8 out of 10.
    3. If you could be a member of the opposite sex for 3 days, would you do it?If yes, what would you do?
    Nah, I don’t care to pee outside or anything.
    1. If you had to be one age for the rest of your life, what age would you be? 19….it was before children….it was quite a bit of freedom with a little bit of responsibility – not childish yet not too adult yet.
    2. Do you prefer chocolate desserts or fruity desserts? Both – more along the fruity if you take into consideration homemade apple pie ala mode (MY FAVORITE!!)
    3. If you could be a member of the opposite sex for 3 days, would you do it?If yes, what would you do? Yes I would….I live in a house with my husband, my 17 year old son and my 13 year old son…even the dog is a boy….so I would like to live like them once – I would run around with no shirt on and wouldn’t have to wear a bra – I would adjust myself a couple times so maybe, just maybe I would understand what that is all about – I would be able to take a shower, get dressed, and brush my teeth and be ready to go out the door in 10 minutes – and I would lay on the couch with SportsCenter on the tv while ready the paper and drinking a beer!!
    that is totes amazing and sooo exciting! congrats!
    (1) honestly, this is totes going to sound corny, but i don’t think i would want to be stuck at one age. even though the college years were great, man was i dumb about life :) maybe i would like to be 5 years old without a care in the world…
    (2) 8/10 chocolate.
    (3) Yes, I think it would be actually quite hilarious :) But just for 3 days, no more!
    Woot woot TC! That’s so awesome that you were on the cover of a magazine! Great publicity for the blog too.
    If I could be any age for the rest of my life, I would say 22. 22 was awesome because I was in TWO of my favorite places on my 22nd bday, Ireland and Venice! It was a day I will never forget. 22 was also fun because your old enough to do just about anything (other than rent a car) and your still young enough to do really anything. they say 22 is when you are at your physical peak too!
    totally chocolate desserts! no question!
    Yes, I would love to be a man for any amount of time. Although, it may scare me and I may end up disliking men somewhat after an experience like that! I think I would just hang out at bars and different scenes to see what they think and how other people interact with them.
    You looked so cute in the pics! Congratulations!
    1. 21 probably. I would say 18 but I was a little too naive then. At 21 though you still have your whole life ahead of you, but you’re old enough to know what’s up.
    2. Hard to say, I’m not as much of a chocolate person anymore so probably fruit.
    3. Yeah totally! I want to know what really goes on their heads!
    Congrats on the magazine cover! That’s awesome! And I totally have a ketchup obsession too so I totally understand where your husband is coming from!
    1. I would say 25 even though I’m not there yet, 5 more months to go! You are still young but can do everything legally, drive, drink, vote, rent a car, etc!
    2. Chocolate for sure! I am addicted to chocolate.
    3. I guess I would like to see what men are thinking all the time! Ha!
    1. Probably 10 because I feel like 10 year olds can get away with anything and everything, plus they shouldn’t have a care in the world at that age.
    2. Probably chocolate. I would most prefer anything carby and peanut butter smothered though.
    3. Don’t think I’d want to do it
    And I love ketchup, too. I used to be a bit embarrassed because all the burger and hot dog aficionados say people who put ketchup on their meats don’t know what they’re doing, but now I wear my ketchup love loud and proud. I just always make sure to use organic ketchup. Not only does it not have HFCS but it has twice the potency of nutrients of regular ketchup.
    That’s so cool that you were on a magazine cover! Congrats! That’s so funny about your hubbies obsession with ketchup. BBQ sauce is definately my favorite condiment…it makes everything taste so good.
    1. I’d stay 22, because I was finished with college and felt like my adult life was all in front of me.
    2. I’d probably pick a fruity dessert over a chocolate one. Does that make me weird??
    3. If I could be a boy for 3 days, I would definately do it. Maybe after those 3 days, I could understand why my husband does the odd things he does and doesn’t listen to me sometimes when I talk! :)
    2) Chocolate!
    3) Yea, I think it’d be a cool experience, you know? Maybe just to get a better idea of what it’s like to be a guy
    1. If you had to be one age for the rest of your life, what age would you be?
    Tough one! I would say 24. Random, but I think at that point you are an adult and generally have some $$ from workin’ in the real world, yet you can still go out and live it up with your friends (on a week night!).
    2. Do you prefer chocolate desserts or fruity desserts?
    Chocolate. No question! But I do like strawberry shortcake and key lime pie (a stretch?)
    3. If you could be a member of the opposite sex for 3 days, would you do it?If yes, what would you do?
    Hmmm, yes. Just because I admire that guys generally don’t gossip and care about nit-picky things like girls do, I just think it’d be fun to hear the “locker room” talk. ;-)
    1. Physically, I’d like to be 25. That is the age I was when I ran the TC marathon. Emotionally/mentally, I’d like to be my current age (28). I suppose that is cheating to pick two, so if I had to choose between the two, I’d say 28.
    2. I am content w/ just a great piece of dark chocolate for dessert! Love the fruity ones, too!
    3. Nope – no interest in seeing what it’s like to be a guy! Good question!
    Oh, and my fave condiment is probably spicy mustard! Mmm!
    Congrats on the press coverage! Go you!
    2. Dark Chocolate
    3. Only if I was a really good looking guy, like Hugh Jackman. THAT would be rad.
    Fave condiment? Green tobasco.
