Not Your Mama’s Pizza

23

Good evening!

I am right in the middle of several things but wanted to tell you guys about the dinner we made tonight: Mama Mary’s Pizza!

IMG_5296

Mama Mary’s makes these pre-made pizza crusts – kind of like Boboli’s – that you can buy, add your own toppings, bake – and eat! I bought the whole wheat crust variety, slathered some pizza sauce on it, topped with some gooey mozzarella cheese and then added my very favorite pizza toppings:

  • sauerkraut
  • cherry tomatoes
  • black olives

Very random – but very tasty!

IMG_5298

Ugggghhhhh sauerkraut, I love youuuuuuu… Go ahead and judge, it’s ok :)

IMG_5303

Ben wanted pepperonis and black olives – I happily obliged :)

IMG_5304

This crust is very good, very light and lets you eat a fair amount of pizza without getting that disgusting, greasy, bogged down feeling – you know what I mean? Homemade ‘za is the best!

Oh, the things I’m in the middle of doing include…packing for Las Vegas!!!!! It’s true – tomorrow afternoon, Ben and I are jetting off to Vegas with several of our very best friends! I have NEVER been and there are just so many sights I want to see, foods I want to taste and nickels I want to put in slot machines. Wahoo!!

~~~~~
Have you ever been to Vegas? What should I make sure to hit up? If you’ve never been, do you have any desire to go?
    Oh I loooove Vegas–it’s about a 5 hour drive for us so we’ve gone a few times. Seriously walking up and down the strip is my favorite thing to do at night…you see so many crazy things and people!
    Are you going to try and see any shows?
    You’ll have a blast no matter what you do!
    I hate gambling and all that, but you need (and I mean NEED) to go to the Venetian. See the ceiling and do a gondala ride through the mall. It’s worth the Vegas trip on its own.
    There’s a great piano bar in the bottom floor of the New York New York (that roller coaster is pretty amazing too)
    The Venetian is really pretty….oh, and hiking at red rock canyon – it’s so gorgeous out there. We rented a car and drove out (only about a 30 min. drive if I remember right) and it was so worth it. Hmmm…Hard ROck casino is fun, too. Have fun!
    I went to Vegas with my family the summer after my senior year of high school. Despite not being able to gamble, there was plenty of things to do, too. The amount of free things to do is amazing! Ceasar’s Palace has a free show in their shopping plaza (an animated maniquen show (pls. excuse all my bad spelling tonight)), Treasure Island does a little pirate show, Mirage has the volcano explosion, Belliagio has the water musical, Circus acts at Circus Circus (plus midway games you pay for–way fun!), and the overhead light show downtown (not on the strip). It was loads of fun just to walk around and look at stuff. I’m sure there was a lot more I forgot that we did for free or cheap. Definitely see a show while you’re there too.
    Oh, and fyi, this was all 10 years ago, so it just *may* have changed, but hopefully not!
    Regardless, HAVE FUN! M&M World was a fun place to visit, too. Try and take in a show if you have the time/money/inclination!
    Enjoy yourself. Can’t wait to see pictures and hear all about it!
Also in Chinatown you will find the best frozen yogurt (pinkberry style) that you can get topped with your fav fresh fruit or fruity pebbles :) Going out… hit up Tao and Tao beach…and my all time fav Tryst!! Have fun and win big!!
    Vegas will be so fun! I always enjoy going to the Bellagio–they have the fountain that goes to music outside and the ceiling in the lobby by Chihuly is beautiful! Also if you have a rental car or take one of the tours, the Hoover Dam really is amazing.
    Also, head up the strip (towards the stratosphere) just past the Wynn is this tiny little hotel/casino called the Casino Royale–they have a great crowd, $1 craps and $2 beers (this is super cheap for vegas). It is a good place to try out table games that are affordable–everyone at the craps table was teaching me how to play and I ended up with enough money to buy dinner! :)
    Ahhhh, I love Vegas!!! Definitely check out Venetian & Ceasars’s Palace. Actually, I loved walking the entire strip & checking out all the casinos. I’ve only been off the strip once and that was to a casino/hotel called Sam’s Town which has a very yummy Mexican restaurant. I’ve also heard the Palms is nice. My dad was there over 4th of July & saw Rihanna hanging out. Have fun!
    I’ve never been to Vegas. I hope to go at least once, but it’s way low on my list of places I’d love to see. Hope you have a great trip!!
    Hey Kristin! Hope you have a great time in Vegas! Blake and I are heading there in a few months for a little winter get away. We loved the piano bar at New York New York, but I think my favorite part was just walking up and down the strip and checking out all of the hotels – plus, it is the best scene for people watching! :) Have a safe and fun trip!
    I love pizza! Arrrgh! Can’t wait to have some this weekend. It’s just an absolute fave.
    I have been to vegas but to be honest we mainly used it as a launchpad for the Grand Canyon and Route 66 – best road trip ever!!
    Me and my g-friend defo did some gambling but not so much clubbing which is a little lame, I mean, when in Vegas, right?
    I did love getting dressed up and wandering around the hotels/strip though and soaking it all in. Such a strange place!
    Have fun!!
    I love pizza and yours looks delish! Yum.
    I live in AZ, so I’ve been to Vegas many, many times. The Venetian is so pretty and definately worth just walking through (saw Phantom of the Opera there and stayed there for a few days). Check out the shops in Planet Hollywood and Caeser’s Palace. Rum Jungle in Mandalay Bay is a favorite restaurant/bar/club of my hubby and me. Have fun!
