Look at my tomatoes! I totally thought this plant was of the Rrrrroma (that’s a rolling R) variety, but it looks like it’s the straight-up globe style. What a surprise! Wow…I used to get excited about clothes and stuff…
Here’s my cherry variety…I think this little guy will be ready to pick tomorrow.
Look at the lusciousness that will be ready to pick soon enough
YAY!
So – how was your day? Can you believe it’s Friday tomorrow? SO JAZZED! I feel like I’ve been on the go-go-go for the past month. I’m so excited to just relax and breathe…
Something that helped me get started with the relaxation was cooking dinner tonight. I feel like I haven’t cooked in ages, so making dinner for Ben and I just felt good.
On the menu was Steak, CousCous and Vegetables. This was ready in about 10 minutes, but it felt nice to be in the kitchen for even just a short amount of time
I started dinner by boiling 2/3 cups water with a pat of butter. When that was boiling, I added 2/3 cups of whole wheat couscous, put the lid on the pan, took it off the burner and let it chill out while I prepped the rest of the meal.
Next, I sprayed both sides of our steaks with some non-stick spray and coated them with a liberal amount of grill & veggie seasoning. They play well together, so I used both kinds.
I let our steaks sizzle in a skillet for about 5 minutes a side, until the outside was seared and crispy, and the inside was perfectly pink.
Meanwhile I took a bag of pre-washed and pre-cut veggies, popped them in the micro for 3 minutes – and we were ready spaghetti!
With a little sprinkling of salt on the couscous and veggies – we were in dinner heaven. A perfect ending to the day
Gosh I love the cous! Like little pillows, I tell ya!
Dessert was stolen…stolen from Ben’s stash of goodies! We don’t really keep junk food in the house, but Ben occasionally nabs some treats when we go grocery shopping. I’m glad he does – because this was heaven – a Strawberry Pop Tart!
Wow – I really can’t remember the last time I had a pop tart – and if you can’t either let me just tell you, it was nostalgic deliciousness. Pop Tart crust is where it’s at!
Look at that pastry crumble! Yeah, I called pop tarts pastry…they are, right?!
Ben and I are off on a walking adventure to get ingredients for a DEEEELIGHTFUL treat I talked about earlier this week…any guesses as to what it could be?
Good night all!
