Grillin’ & Chillin’

Happy Friday evening all!

Ben and I started the night out right with a good, old fashioned grill out and made Foil Packet Dinners!

Ingredient choices included:

First I sprayed a big length of heavy duty foil with some non-stick spray and layered on my potatoes and frozen veggies:

Then I layered on both types of zucchini and some fresh green beans – all from my Mom’s friend’s garden!

My third layer was cherry tomatoes from my Mom’s plants (thanks ma!) and some hunks of lean turkey breast.

I seasoned everything liberally with veggie grill seasoning, garlic powder and some olive oil based salad dressing, then sealed ‘er up tight.

We placed the foil packets on the grill, setup camp on the back deck and patiently waited with some beer (for him) and wine (for her). :)

Plates are ready!

20 minutes later – packets are up!

The potatoes were perfectly seasoned and crispy from the dressing.

The green beans were steamed to perfection from the water in the frozen veggies!

The zucchini tasted garden-fresh…probably because it was!

The aftermath…a foil graveyard!

Dessert was Australian Licorice, of course! So sad…between Ben, myself and a few pieces eaten by Ben’s Dad – we’ve almost cashed the whole bag. :( That’s how good this stuff is!

Off to enjoy this BEAUTIFUL Friday – I hope you’re doing the same!

Looks like a yummo dinner! I think I’ve seen that liquorice in the supermarket here, but it’s not called Australian liquorice! There’s another kind which looks softer and it’s so more-ish!

I have a question! My mom, has been supplying your mom with fresh garden vegetables, which I think you’ve been able to enjoy as well…so that’s how I ended up here :-) She had me look at Trader Joe’s earlier today for this licorice, and I’m not sure if I found the right stuff…do you know the brand name? The stuff I found was “Darrell Lea Australian Licorice.” It came in a plastic tub, not a bag though, however it does look like your photo…does this ring a bell? You’ve got both me and my mom curious now, LOL!
