No Rest for the Weary

33

Hi friends :)

Kind of feeling like I got ran over by a truck this morning, so I stayed home from work. I don’t know what’s up, as I never – NEVER – get sick! :(

I made a Green Monster (yay, it’s back) to help rejuvenate myself – hopefully it will be a nice pick me up.

In the mix:

  • 1/4 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 T almond butter
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 2 handfuls baby spinach
  • 1 frozen banana
  • handful of ice
  • frozen mango chunks

Frozen mango makes everything better, in my opinion!

I’m going to go crash on the couch and try and get some work done. No rest for the weary!

What’s your favorite “sick” food?

I’m old school – chicken soup for the soul, baby.

Mango actually makes me feel better too! :)
It feels like it settles my stomache.. and its the perfect sweetness!
Also, candied ginger, and PURE chocolate brownie bars.. when i am vioently ill, PURE bars are my hero.. they are the only thing I can digest!

Feel better. My husband despises chicken noodle soup, so he always gets chicken tortilla soup when he’s sick. Basically the same thing amped up with veggies and some cumin and chili powder!

  19. I love the color of your green monster! When I’m sick, I drink lots of tea and eat lots of soup. Then, when I feel a little better, I go with comfort food like mac and cheese. Hope you feel better soon!

I love frozen mango in smoothies – SO good (esp. since I’m not a big banana fan – the mango adds the sweet creaminess bananas can add, except with a tropical flair!) ;)

I hope you feel better! I’ve been a mess lately – I don’t feel sick really, but I’ve just been achy and currently stomach-achy. Maybe it’s the changing of the seasons? Just go for lots of liquids and rest! :)

This remedy will sound terribly strange, I know, but an ex-boyfriend of mine swore by it and when I finally tried it, it actually worked! Wanna know the secret?

    Warm orange juice.

Sounds gross. Yes. But I swear its not that bad & it works!

  22. Sara 09.15.2009

Feel better! My favorite sick food? I don’t know if I have a favorite because I usually only eat these foods when I’m sick…but I’ll say Sprite and saltine crackers.

  23. Amber 09.15.2009

Someday I WILL try the green monster… so many bloggers drink them regularly!
My favorite “go-to sick food”? I’m with you! Chicken noodle soup OR I also love tomato soup (but only in the winter!). Hope you feel better soon, get some rest!

  26. Jill 09.15.2009

    I hope you feel better!

Question… I made the breakfast cookie… I was so excited this morning to try it but when I got it out of the fridge, it was still really mushy. Are they supposed to be mushy?
