Hey-o!
How’s your Sunday going? Mine’s been really good, actually! For breakfast I did a little bar mix-match action, and munched on half of my Tropical Fruit Lara Bar (I had the first half yesterday morning in the car) and a WildBlueberry PURE Bar.
I totally dug this new flavor! The actual bar was more crumbly than your standard Lara Bar and the flavor was like a tropical pineapple mixed drink. I felt like I should be on a white-sand beach somewhere!
After a Target and grocery store run, I dug into a new purchase – Cinnamon Harvest Kashi Cereal.
I don’t usually buy Kashi cereal because:
- I don’t buy a lot of cereal as I eat it too fast
- Kashi products are usually too price-ay for this budget diva
Today though, Kashi cereals were 2/$7 AND I had a $2 off coupon – SCORE!
Like the granola I purchased last week, this is probably more of a snack or dessert for me since there is a lot of sugar in here – but, I’d rather be eating a whole grain dessert than not!
That’s one thing to watch for when buying organic or health food products. Just because they’re organic or “health food” items – doesn’t mean that they’re not laced with sugar. Always read your labels!
That said, these.were.awesome. They tasted just like my favorite nostalgic cereal Cinnamon Toast Crunch!!
Well Ben and I are off to go visit our little nephew Finn for awhile, then I want to catch the red-carpet at the Emmy’s!
~~~~~
Do you watch award shows?
I do like the red carpet at the Emmy’s, but not so much the Grammy’s or Oscar’s. I think we’re so bombarded by movie stars all the time, that it’s nice to see our fave television characters come out and play at the Emmy’s!
I love cinnamon toast crunch! I made CTC White chocolate chip cookies this weekend – OMG!
I totally agree with you on the granola and cereal front. I use them like spices in yogurt and oatmeal instead of the main dish. Too easy to go overboard.
I used to get really into awards shows in college and seminary as an escape but now I don’t have hours to devote to watching them. I just get the highlights on E! later
Watching the Emmy’s right now! And I don’t think you have to worry about sugar with Kashi products. 9 grams out of 54 isn’t going to touch your blood sugar
Good reminder! I have a tendency to see health food as healthy, end of story. It would actually get a good idea for me to start watching my sugar intake! My skin does not like the sugar as much as as my taste buds do!
Have fun visiting baby Finn!
It is amazing at how unhealthy some of the ‘health’ food can be. It’s definitely always important to check the label!
That cereal looks delicious though!
That’s my favorite CEREAL!!! mmm cinnamon
GAH
all in moderation, non?
haha i am so munching down on some cinnomon harvest crunch right now.
its so. good. i should really refrain from buying cereal. but its like the only grain I DO eat.. so.. eh. oh well
xox
Love the idea of mix n match bars–it’s like two bars in one!
My favorite way to eat that Cinnamon Harvest cereal is to pour heated almond milk over it, so it turns into mush, kinda like oatmeal!
I luuuurve Kashi cinnamon harvest…one of my favs!!
I eat cereal almost every morning but have guidelines for myself regarding price and fiber/sugar content. Last week, I scored a major deal on Kashi brands, too, so I have Cinnamon Harvest to look forward to when my current box is done! Glad it gets the IGE stamp of approval.
