Heyyyy I’m back!
Most of the snow, I’m happy to report, has melted – PHEW. I mean I’m all for some festive, holiday flurries, but it’s October 10! You know?!
So – last night’s rehearsal dinner was juicy – we ate at the always incredible Centro, where I dined on a Greek Salad, Pizza Napoletana (fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, fresh basil & tomato sauce cooked in a coal-fired brick oven – THE BEST) and ended with the most decadent Flourless Chocolate Cake that has ever passed my lips!
We didn’t end up eating until around 9:00pm, so I haven’t been too hungry today. I finally broke into some eats around 12: Popcorn, Special K Crackers and a CherryCashew PURE Bar.
I bought this box way back when my friend and I had girls night, and we still haven’t finished it! It is packed with these little crackers, which happen to be packed with delicious flavor. Love these guys!
PURE Bars – I will never tire of you
So – outfits for the wedding tonight. You’ll recall I had a similar dilemma for a wedding I went to this summer which is – I had nothing to wear! I hopped over to the mall, which is being overtaken by tweens I might add, raced around for about an hour, and picked up a dress from White House Black Market (don’t mind the undone hair & makeup):
Pros:
- IT HAS POCKETS!!
- It’s comfortable
- Original price: $158. Price I paid today: $39.99
- Simple pattern that I can wear for a variety of occasions
Cons:
- The torso length is about 1 inch too long for me
Overall the pros out numbered the cons and I made the purchase – yeah! I’m hoping the torso length issue is just something that only the wearer can detect…plus, the great thing about weddings is that nobody’s looking at the guests!
Oh, I dropped Ben off at the church today (he’s a groomsmen) and the bouquets had just been delivered. Aren’t they gorgeous?!
I love the variety of textures and Fall colors in these bouquets. Our bride has great taste!
Aight everybody – I’m off to finish getting ready and enjoy the wedding festivities! Full re-cap to come tomorrow

What’s your favorite flower?
For a long time, mine was gerber daises. Now it’s peonies – pink ones, preferably!

Get the dress altered – it’s a winner otherwise!! Love it.
Favorite flower = rose.
I think you look beautiful! You are such a natural beauty… As long as you are comfortable and can dance, and eat.. you’re good!
I love it in the pic. If it bothers you then you can alter it for future occassions.
My favorite flower is a sterling rose. But I had hydrengas for my wedding which reminded me of my grandmother
Hello!
What a nasty day in Iowa! And I agree, going to the mall on the weekend (esp. Jordan Creek) is just asking for a 10-14 year old to knock you over while she/he texts her/his love interest who is on the other end of the mall!
Love the outfit. Wouldn’t have noticed the torso issue unless you pointed it out. I have an oddly shaped body, so I usually end up compromising when it comes to dresses. I say, for that price and the versatility, it’s totally worth it!
Have fun tonight!
love the dress! too late for the wedding- but def get it altered after! peonies are my favorite flower too!
What a pretty dress, I love it!
Love the dress, very versatile! You look great! I always have the same problem with dresses as I have a short torso, it’s annoying.
I love hydrangeas. I got married in July and they were in bloom that month so it was perfect. Had it been a May wedding I would have picked peonies. I love those too.
I really love the dress!
That’s such a cute dress!! Excellent choice.
Great dress! And what a steal! I can’t even notice the torso issue!! I love roses, something so romantic about them, but I love so many other flowers! I am thinking about usuing calla lilies for my wedding in June and maybe some hydrangeas also!
I think it’s a GREAT purchase and it looks good on you! I would never detect the one inch too much!
Super cute dress!!!
Tulips are my favorite by far.
I love TULIPS!!! For the longest I never had a favorite flower then one Spring I saw the beautiful array of colorful tulips in the grocery store and I have been in love ever since………=)

Hi there!
I followed you here from eatingbirdfood’s site! I noticed you were from Iowa…I’m in Nebraska so we’re neighbors. And, what was with that “dusting” of snow?! 3 inches here…a non-event, but still, way too early!
Love the dress! I ran up to our outdoor mall yesterday and it was way too packed so I turned right around. It looked like the day before Christmas shopping!
Love your style! I can’t wait to read more.
That dress looks wonderful on you! I love White House Black Market, they always have the cutest things, plus you got that dress for a good bargain, you can totally get it altered!
Hope you had fun (i’m a little late commenting) but i can’t wait to see the recap of the wedding!
The dress is very cute and I especially love the belt you added! I love peonies too, especially white ones that fade into pink at the edges. But I actually have 3 that nearly tie for my favorite. 1-Magnolia 2-Calla Lily 3-Hydrangea…..can you tell that I took floral design?
Check out my last post! I gave you 2 awards
Great dress!!!
My favorite flowers were always pink tulips but I find myself swooning over white peonies. Peonies are so full, feminine & fragrant : )
I just got the same dress for my company Christmas party! I wasn’t going to wear a sweater with it, but now that I see it on you it does like sort of cute. I also had the same “issue” with the waist area, but I couldn’t tell it in the mirror. I paid the same too, we have an outlet in our area! Love White House Black Market on the cheap!
