Wooohooooo I’m back!
Ohhhhh Internet – why do you stress me out, so? For the past several hours, the blog has been working for some, but not others and unfortunately I fell into the “others” category!
Fortunately I’m back now – thank you refresh button for finally working!
The best way to explain tonight’s dinner is just to show you this picture:
HA! Are you joking me?! This is a Quiznos “Torpedo” aka, the longest sandwich on the planet!
I had some Quiznos coupons that were going to expire, so tonight Ben and I decided to redeem!
The coupon was actually for a “Bullet” which is a smaller version of the “Torpedo,” but after some serious misunderstandings at the counter involving Ben and a 17 year old “manager” having a ridiculously bad day – we ended up with Torpedos!
Mine was of the Pesto Turkey variety, and was sooo tasty. I like Subway for the healthy, inexpensive and convenience aspect – but it really doesn’t compare to the taste of Quiznos.
On the torpedo was turkey, mozzarella, tomato, lettuce and red wine vinaigrette.
It was a little oily, but extremely flavorful overall and I just love that toasty bread!
I ate half of the torpedo and called it a night.
Actually, I had the other half of my Pumpkin Pie Blizzard and THEN called it a night.
Well, perhaps having the blog down was a good thing? While I patiently waited for it to come back up, I made tomorrow’s dinner, sorted the bills and cleaned the kitchen! Whee!
Off to finish The Biggest Loser. FYI – I finally chose who I am rooting for: Danny. I think he’s got a great spirit, attitude and is an overall nice guy!
‘Night folks!

What’s your sub shop of choice?

That sandwich is a TWSS waiting to happen
For healthy I like Subway, for fun chain I like Quiznos and for just good subs I like Wawa.
Yay! You’re baaaack!
Every time I see the commercial for the torpedo, I have to laugh ’cause of the sexy voice-over! I have to admit that your dinner looks tasty (but not as good as a Pumpkin Pie Blizzard sounds right about now!!)
The torpedo looks great! I worked at Quiznos a long time, the food was soooo good. Haven’t eaten it since, though!
I love Quizno’s, but the one nearest me closed.
Jimmy John’s is pretty good, too (freaky good, freaky fast!).
Not too picky as long as it isn’t Jimmy John’s can we say YUCK? Although at school I used to literally live off Subway so I’m a little sick of it.
I haven’t been to Quizno’s in ages! I need to try it again!
I worked at Subway for three years.
Cold sandwiches = Jimmy Johns– can’t beat that bread!
Hot sandwiches = Which Wich
Oh i love Quizno’s!!!! I do love Jimmy Johns too, but my ultimate favorite is Potbelly… do you have those??
We have a local place called “Stuffys” that is just amazing… their veggie pita is to die for and chocked full o’every veggie imaginable – yum! You got me craving it now haha
If you’re ever in Ames, try the Downtown Deli on Main Street. It’s a little place that has probably been there forever, but I love that the meat and cheese are sliced off the block as you order! Can’t beat that freshness. Great bread, too, and it’s CHEAP!
Wow, that is a loooong sandwich! Did you not get to use the coupon because of the misunderstanding? That would be such a shame! I love coupons
Quizno’s is tasty; but the hometown, locally owned sub places take the cake – Fat Albert’s and Grand Junction up in ND. I’ve made it a habit of visiting one or the other when I’m home. Junction sauté’s all of your ingredients right in front of you before putting it on the bread to toast the cheese – there are no words to describe how delicious it is!
I don’t eat subs, but my hubby loves Jimmy John’s !
I just had my very first Bullet on Halloween! It had been years since I had been to a Quizno’s and I forgot just how flavorful their subs are. Nevertheless I am a Subway girl all the way. I like to keep it simple, fresh and cheap!
Sidenote: My Boyfriend is rooting for Danny and I am still trying to decide who I am rooting for, Rebecca maybe? She put forth a really solid effort in DC, I was impressed. I love TV talk
mmmmm….My favorite ubs would actually be from Danny’s Sub Shop (not sure if they are everywhere, but we just got one in Central Ohio) or Jersey Mike’s. I really like subs that offer fresh deli meats and cheese that you watch them slice up specifically for your sandwich! And both of the sub shops above offer whole wheat bread which is awesome! I’m a sucker for a good Turkey and Provolone with all the veggies and hot peppers!
I like Quiznos too! But my favorite is Lenny’s! It’s a chain here in the south, not sure if it’s anywhere else since no one else mentioned it!
