Family Weekend Wrap-Up

20

Ahhh – just sat down after another wonderful family day, which started with a Sugar-Free Vanilla Latte and a Chocolate Doughnut Hole at church because…

Finn was baptized today! (And yes, the church my brother and sister-in-law goes to has a Starbucks-esque coffee bar in it!)

The ceremony was beautiful and Finn was the perfect little baptizee. ;) He didn’t cry a bit – in fact, he looooves having water poured over his head so he enjoyed every moment!

The whole family was there, dressed in our Sunday best. :)

Afterwards we headed over to my brother and sister-in-law’s home for celebratory brunch! There was a whole buffet of sweet treats (where you know I headed first) which included Homemade Sticky Buns,

Fresh Fruit,

Cherry Cobbler Bars,

and Chocolate Blondies (omg!) All the sweets were homemade by my sister-in-law’s Mother and Grandmother – they were the best part of the brunch, as you can imagine!

Ok – the rest of brunch was preeeety darn good too! It was catered and included the fluffiest, creamiest scrambled eggs I’ve ever tasted (I want to know how they made them…seriously, HOW??) and some perfectly cooked hash browns.

Rounded out with some fresh fruit, a slice of bacon and a sticky bun – I am a stuffed lady right now. 8O

After brunch, we spent some quality time together.

And of course, fawned over the star of the day – Finn!

Ben and I were talking, and we are seriously scared for our future babies… Finn.is.ADORABLE! His cousins will have some stiff competition!!

IMG_4202

He is such a good baby and let everyone hold, ooh and ahh over him. ;)

Family time = the best time. I can’t tell you how thankful I am that I live so close and am able to not miss a thing!

Well my Grandma and Aunt are off to the airport to fly home to Ohio and Ben and I are spending the remainder of our Sunday winding down and relaxing. It’s been a crazy weekend – I can’t believe tomorrow’s already Monday!

Actually, I’m kind of glad a fresh, new week is starting tomorrow. I really slacked off on working out last week and indulged waaay to much this weekend. Right now I have that puffy, “gross” feeling, if you will. The good news is that a new week = new choices = moving forward. To tomorrow!

Did you grow up near your extended family? Aunts, uncles, cousins or Grandparents?

    Adorable family!

My mom’s entire family (5 siblings + grandparents) live within a 5 mile radius of my parent’s house in the MN countryside – all farmers. Needless to say, grandma’s house was just a bike ride “over the river (coulee) and through the woods (fields).” =)

Finn is to freakin cute! You are a lucky auntie. Congrats to you and your family on the baptism. :)

I think I would be in total food coma with all of those delicious options. Especially the stick buns.

I grew up about half of my aunts, uncles and cousins. I love it, even though my brother and mom now live out of state, I still have close family near me.

He is soooo adorable, but I wouldn’t worry if I were you – I think you and Ben will have quite the adorable little kids of your own!

    Those sticky buns look amaaaazing.

I don’t live close to my extended family which I hate because I miss out on my little cousins growing up and all the fun stuff. I miss being close to my family. We are close as much as possible, but still hard with a minimum of 3 1/2 hours from them.

U are so lucky to have such a big family! I seriously only have my parents, sister and my uncle that I am close to and live around here… I only have 2 cousins aside from that anyways. All my grandparents have passed plus our family is uber-small… sometimes I wish it were different but I know that it’s just the way we are so I have to embrace it! The Man’s family is huge however (hello Italian) so it’s kinda nice that I get to experience that big family feel through him :)

What a beautiful family! Congrats on the baptism to little Finn and his family! :)
That food looks ah-mazing! As for the scrambled eggs… do you whip yours with a little milk mixed in? That’s what I do and it makes them very fluffy.

My family is pretty much all in the same city! My dad moved to Tampa a few years ago, but that just gives us a good reason to go to Florida!!

I’m 3 miles from one sister (and her kiddos) and 5 miles from my other sister (and her kiddos). I wouldn’t change it for the world!
