In Awesome News…

Hi!

Thanks SO much for all the foundation suggestions this morning! There were several that came highly recommended by multiple peeps, so I’m absolutely going to check them out this weekend. :) Do you ask friends and family for recommendations before you buy certain products?

If I’m going to spend the money I like to know what I’m getting myself into. Therefore, I always appreciate the opinions of those who have or have tried something that I’m looking to buy!

Anywho, tonight I’m continuing my warm and cozy meal plans for the cold week we’re rocking here in Iowa. Tonight’s dish is another one that incorporates leftovers, this time some ham from Sunday – a hot and satisfying Ham & Cheese Frittata!

Oooooo super good!!!

If you’ve never added pasta to your frittata, you’ve got to give it a go! It helps the whole thing setup and gives it an awesome “chew”. :)

I don’t add any cheese into the “batter” either – I can never taste it when it’s all mixed in, so what’s the point of including it? A slight sprinkling on top is really all you need.

Frittatas are great for leftovers – throw ‘em all in there! I sure as heck did!

In other news, it’s an exciting night here at the IGE household…I get to change my Sonicare toothbrush head! If that’s not awesome, then I don’t know what is… ;)

In other, other news, our cable is out :( Hopefully it returns before the Top Chef season pre-finale! Team Kevin!

Electric or regular toothbrush?

I switched to an electric Sonicare toothbrush several years ago, and have never looked back. I was brushing away my gums with a regular toothbrush!

Regular. And I so agree on the cheese and eggs thing! I never understood why people preferred it mixed instead of “blanketed”

  2. I use a regular tooth brush… never really got into the electric thing :)

  3. Wendy says:

Electric at night, regular in the morning! My electric one has a timer, and I just can’t commit to the full two minutes in the morning.

  4. Lizzy says:

So glad you liked the foundation recommendations, let me know what you decide to get! :)

gosh i hope that cable comes back on, i’m such a party pooper when ours goes out! hehe

    xoxo

  5. Jessie says:

I have a Sonicare too. I love it! The timer makes it so easy and I am not hurting my gums. If only I could det that on board with flossing.

  6. Katie says:

Electric my mom is a dental hygenist ;)

I know being in the Midwest the next few weeks is going to call for soup and comfort food. I’m dreeeading getting out in the cold wind to run tomorrow!

  7. We had a quick southwestern frittata for lunch today since they are so easy.

I use a regular tooth brush. I haven’t yet invested in the electric kind.

  8. I really like Kevin on Top Chef too! Hope he wins!!

  9. I love all of the recipes you post!!! I can’t wait to make the fritatta and the pot pie that you posted the other night! Thanks!!!

  10. Katie says:

Love my Sonicare. Would never go back….

I really need to make one of those fritatas. They look so darn good!

  12. Jessica says:

I am so on Team Kevin!! Yay!

  13. YEAHHH KEVIN!!!
I miss my sonicare… i lost custody when i moved out of my mom’s house :(

  14. Carrie says:

Interesting you say you were brushing away your gums with a regular brush because my dentist told me to never use an electric toothbrush *because* of my gum recession. He said with the vibration and tendency to brush even harder, it wore down your gums even faster.

  15. Anne K. says:

Wow, that fritatta looks delicious! I use a regular ol’ toothbrush. I do think it’d be cool to have one of those nice expensive electric ones, though :)

  16. Holly says:

i have heard such fab things about that toothbrush – i have been a regular gal all my life.

gah, i love frittatas. so easy, simple and DELICIOUS! i haven’t tried adding pasta to mine, which i will definitely do next time :)

  17. Amy says:

So, electric toothbrushes are kinder to your gums? Maybe I’ll switch. Thanks for the pointer.

  18. i made an egg creation very similar to that when I was at home…my dad enjoyed it but was like my oh my you really like your veggies huh

  19. Stephen says:

Top Chef is so awesome! Kevin is my fav but this is the best top 4 ever I think. I use the crest spin brush, we have Sonicares but it takes too long to brush lol. The spin brush seems to brush my teeth faster.

  20. Mikael says:

Never tried a frittata, but yours looks good.

I used to use electric but ever since I got really bad jaw disorder, I’ve had to switch to regular to save myself from pain and discomfort from strange vibrations in my mouth :P

  21. Spenser says:

Loooove my Sonicare! I can never go back to a regular toothbrush now.

  22. Jessica says:

Not sure what I did wrong (probably not enough eggs) but I ended up with a scrambled mess. Still tasted good though :) Thanks for the recipes!

  23. Great fritatta recipe and wonderful step-by-step pics! Great job.

  24. Laura says:

I was inspired by this post and made a frittata for dinner tonight! I made one almost exactly like yours but used leftover rice instead of pasta, as that’s what I had in my fridge–so good!

  25. Valerie says:

I’m VERY PROUD to say I did that workout yesterday, and it was fantastic. I completed the entire interval circuit!! I was glowing once I left the gym. Thanks!

Regular. I’m old school like that.

  26. Jill and Matt says:

My boyfriend and I have been doing your interval treadmill workout this past week. We love it because it totally kicks our butts. Thanks for sharing!!!
