Goood evening!
I’ve had a very breakfasty kind of day in the eats department, which is a-ok by me.
For lunch I toasted up a couple slices of this Pepperidge Farms 100% Natural 100% Whole Wheat Bread.
I was searching through the loaves at the store today, looking for bread that didn’t have high-fructose corn syrup in it. I didn’t even have to read the label on this guy – it says it right on the front of the package. Nice!
Two hearty slices entered the toaster…
And exited a couple minutes later.
Smeared with a generous dollop of Trader Joes Almond Butter,
It was the perfect lunch!
This bread is awesome. It’s 100% whole wheat, a good source of fiber and is very hearty. I was full and satisfied after eating this dee-lish combo of whole grains and protein packed almond butter. Whoopee!
After lunch I hunkered down to finish Dan Brown’s The Last Symbol! If you like his other books, you’ll definitely like this one – it’s very similar to The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, etc. So, if you dug those, you won’t be disappointed with The Lost Symbol! Now I’m on the hunt for another good read…any suggestions?
After wrapping up my book and getting my Sunday afternoon Hills fix on tv (I miss the original cast!) my stomach started growling…I knew exactly what I wanted. Cheerios!
Awww – I haven’t had Cheerios in ages! They make me smile. Especially MultiGrain Cheerios, which have that hint of sweet that I love so much.
I paired mine with some skim milk and a sliced banana. Grandpa style. My Grandpa had a sliced banana and milk every morning.
Whoops – ‘Os overboard!
I had to photograph quickly as there is nothing worse than soggy cereal!
I munched away wrapped up in TWO blankets on the couch. Despite the thermostat reading 71 degrees, this house feels like an ice box!
I’m staying put for a brand new America’s Funniest Home Videos (love those montages!) and Desperate Housewives (totally forgot about that show until I saw a commercial for it yesterday…)
Have a great – and warm – night everyone. Talk to you tomorrow!

Do you like soggy cereal? Furthermore, do you drink the milk?
If it’s soggy, I have to start fresh. Soggy makes me gag! Even typing the word ‘soggy’ makes me naeusous! And no, I cannot drink the milk…it gets too warm.

I just bought that almond butter at TJs last night. I hate soggy cereal! And I really don’t like milk, so I wouldn’t drink it anyway.
Textures bother me. Certain ones do, and this includes soggy things. Sometimes oatmeal bothers me. I don’t like it too watery. The look of it really bothers me. And cereal? I eat mine dry to avoid the soggy factor.
How ironic that you post about breakfasty foods – we just finished eating your pumpkin pie pancakes for supper! Yummy.
I’m currently listening to The Lady Elizabeth by Alison Weir, and it’s really good. Looonnggg but good!
I almost bought this bread today! They were out of my usual Nature’s Own Whole Wheat Double Fiber, but then I saw another brand with no HFCS that was cheaper, so I went with that. Hopefully it’s just as good.
Oh my, Desperate Housewives, I almost forgot. need to TVO this. I will not make it for the entire episode.
Stay warm my friend.
I say yes to soggy cereal. I actually don’t really eat cereal that often with milk (I love dry cheerios and corn flakes only), but when I have it with yogurt I like it to sit for a while to get soggified. My dad eats a sliced banana with half and half…he’s such a geezer!
Hate soggy cereal, yuck! I’m on the couch in two blankets too, it’s -2 degrees here in NW Iowa! I want summer!
I used to HATE to drink the milk, but I like it now
Its so funny because in this post you chose two of my favorite comfort foods…peanut butter toast and cereal make me instantly happy. I love them
Hope you start to warm up! Our “heat” keeps going down to 68 degrees. im freezing my butt off up here! How long till summer again?
Didn’t know about the almond butter at TJs; gotta try it!;
also love adding the banana slices to cereal; I additionally add flax-seed powder (Trader Joes) and its good for you; some raisins and perhaps some honey!
… and I do slurp the milk! yumm!
Ha ha!
I love your eats and photos….always so clean and refreshing!! I’m a sucker for love stories – if you haven’t read the Twilight series it tells a great story!! Also Danielle Steele has some good reads – Palomino, The Long Road Home or just about any of her other books!! You’ll have to let us know what your next read is!!
I always drink the milk. Not drinking it seems like wasting food…and I have a hard time with letting myself do that.
Plus, the milk is where the nutrient in your cereal go, so in order to get all of the vitamins, it’s necessary to drink it.
I love all the Dan Brown books. I also love James Patterson especially his Alex Cross series. They are real page turners.
I hate soggy cereal and no I’ve never drank the milk. Actually I only use soymilk in cereal and I make sure I only pour as much as I need. There’s usually nothing left but a couple drops.
The Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlain (sp?) Harris are really good. The True Blood series on HBO is based on those.
I don’t like soggy cereal but do like to drink the milk. It’s like the dessert at the end or something.
The Help by Kathryn Stockett was an excellent book. I’d definitely recommend it if you haven’t read it.
I highly recommend “Under the Table” by Katherine Darling.
I love slightly soggy cereal – and the leftover milk is the best part!
I am reading The Memory Keepers Daughter – it is great so far!
Trader Joes Almond butta is the beeeeest!
I would love to get to a Trader Joe’s, but since we live in IA, that won’t happen! I’m wanting to read The Girls From Ames, and I’m waiting to borrow it from a friend….looks good!
Big fan of soggy cereal–I like to let it soak for a few minutes before digging in:) Oh, and I totally drink the milk!
I swear breakfast foods are the best foods! It’s my favourite meal of the day

so well written!
I personally HATE milk – milk on cereal is probably one of my worst nightmares; the soggyness, the smell, the look…everything..erhg
Have you read The Girl Next Door by Elizabeth Noble? I think that’s such a beautiful book
I’ve just got Desperate Housewives season 5 for christmas, can’t wait to get started! I hope I don’t forget my blog when I (inevitably) get addicted
Have a great day!
You should try a couple of books by Jodi Picoult. The always have really shocking twists that you couldn’t predict. Happt reading!
hmm there are certain cereals that I actually prefer soggy and I always drink the milk!
My grandma always has bananas on top of her cereal! But I do too now!
It depends on what cereal it is, like kashi go lean crunch is do hard I like it to settle in with the milk and I usually drink the milk;)
Jenna
I just downloaded the new Stephen King novel, the Dome to my iPhone and so far it’s really good so I suggest that!
I don’t eat cereal with milk because I’m sensitive to lactose. Just isn’t worth it to waste my tolerance on milk…I’d rather have a latte
But I love cereal on yogurt and hate when it gets soggy there.
Cherrios with bananas (not soggy) is my FAVORITE regular-day breakfast. Yum! Good choice!
For books, try “In the Woods” by Tana French. It’s a mystery-type story set in Ireland. Then read her next book, “The Likeness.” Both are well-written captivating stories and great reads for when it’s cold outside.
Aw, my grandparents totally did bananas on cereal too! My fave is corn flakes with bananas. I just started reading Jonathon Strange and Mr Norrell, the bf got it for me for Christmas, I don’t know how he guessed I wanted to read it! It’s super long, which I love, I just hate when a good book ends
Love your blog! It has become a daily read for me for I also love to eat, run, and travel. You should read the book Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert if you have not already. They are making it into a movie with Julia Roberts and Javier Bardem if you need more credability than my random post that it is a great read!
