I’m just bursting with news this week! Lots to tell you, so let’s start from the top.
1. The 3-Day Workout Challenge has started off with a bang! I marched straight to the gym after work and completed this 60 Minute Mix-it-Up Cardio Routine.
- 10 minutes elliptical @ level 5
- 10 minutes treadmill @ 6.5 mph
- 10 minutes elliptical @ level 5
- 10 minutes treadmill @ 7.0 mph
- 5 minutes treadmill @ 4.0 mph & 2% incline
- 10 minutes stairmaster @ level 5
- 1 minute treadmill @ 4.0 mph
- 1 minute treadmill @ 8 mph
- 1 minute treadmill @ 4.0 mph
- 1 minute treadmill @ 9 mph
- 1 minute treadmill @ 3.5 mph
It was absolute perfection – until my treadmill got stuck at 9 mph on my last sprint!!! The speed button was making the beeping noise as I tried to slow down, but the belt stayed at 9.0 mph! Finally, I grabbed the handles on either side of me, jumped both feet off to either side of the spinning death belt and had to literally hammer my fist down on the stop button to get the whole treadmill to shut down. SCARY! But, great workout. Bring it on, day 2 & 3!
2. If you think you’re too scared of clowns to watch the Beyonce Clown video, I promise you, you’ll be laughing too hard to be scared. It’s a must-see.
3. IT’S GIRL SCOUT COOKIE TIME!!!! I was innocently filling up my water bottle in the breakroom today, when I spotted the most beautiful sight – a Girl Scout cookie order sheet! With no hesitation I ordered 2 boxes of Thin Mints, and a box of Samoas (which are now called Caramel Delights!).

I literally cannot wait until these get in!
4. The temperature is supposed to get down to -20 degrees tonight. ‘Nuff said.
5. Ben and I hit up the Hy-vee All You Can Eat Salad Bar for dinner tonight!
Fresh salad with all the fixins’ to eat to your heart’s content. It’s love. I filled my plate with:
- Mixed greens
- Spinach
- Crab meat
- Chicken
- Cucumbers
- Cherry tomatoes
- Cottage Cheese
- Fried onion rings (I couldn’t resist!)
- Half a hard boiled egg
Just the white, thanks.
I also got a big plate of fresh, tropical fruit.
- Pineapple
- Cantaloupe
- Strawberries
- Mixed Berries
So sweet and juicy – perfection! Pay no attention to the pasta salad that’s trying to diminish its glow – it was terrible and not worthy of my gorgeous fruit plate.
I rounded it all out with a cup of Chicken & Sausage Gumbo. The absolute best – Hy-vee does this soup right!
Oh – and a to-go container of some more fruit.
$4.99 for all of that fresh, wholesome, good-for-you food. Can’t beat it!
I’m off to go pop Public Enemies into the DVD player.

Johnny Depp? Nice. Christian Bale? NICE!
Good night!

What’s your favorite Girl Scout Cookie?

They’ve always been Caramel Delights here in central IL.
Your dinner looks so incredibly good, yum!
Oh I love the Samoas/Caramel Delight. Nothing compares, and you can’t get them anywhere else. i need to track down a girl scout or two this year to get my fix. I might even have to branch out and try some other ones. But my heart belongs forever to the Samoa. God bless the Girl Scout cookie.
mmm hyvee salad bar and girl scout cookies in one post? That’s torture! Both look SOOO good! and it’s girl scout cookie time, what the heck!? Where did the time go!?
Samoas all the way. Closely followed by Thin Mints.
I liked the shortbread and the lemon cookies when I was a kid. Not even sure if they have both of those now…
My fav. girl scout cookies were samoas and the pb chocolate ones. Tagalongs? mmmm
Caramel Delights are wonderful! I am a big fan of Girl Scout Cookie season. And I tried the soy vanilla latte from Starbucks tonight and it was amazing! Thank you for mentioning it.
I’m new to your site but you have a lot of great information and I will definitely keep reading. And I’m in North Dakota, so I know what you mean when you talk about cold. Brrr!
Thin mints Frozen are the best. But frozen Samoas are awesome too.
How scary about the treamill. I had one spark and almost catch on fire while I was on it. Scary!
Ooh it’s Girl Scouts cookies time! I wonder why they don’t stop by college campuses? because we college students are broke? I miss those cookies!!!
I LOVE samoas (caramel delights). And that’s scary about the treadmill! I’m always worried that will happen to me!
I feel like it was just Girl Scout cookie time…but I’m not complaining! The Samoas are my favorite, followed closely by the Peanut Butter Patties. I remember when Samoas used to be called Caramel Delights…back in the day when I was a little Girl Scout. Funny, how they’ve gone back to that name.
Oh my goodness. My favorite are thin mints and I spread a little peanut butter on the smooth side of them. Sooooo good.
Oh man, this makes me so excited! I love Girl Scout Cookies…so much that I flavored my bowls of oatmeal last year like the different flavors of cookies: Samoas, Taglongs, Lemon Creme Chalet, Do-Si-Dohs…it was tasty eats. My favorite cookie will always be the Samoa though.
I’ve never had a girl scout cookie – we don’t have that kinda thing in england!
Why did you only have the white of your egg? The yolk is the best bit!!
I am totally a Samoa (Caramel Delight) girl all the way! Thin mints would be my runner up though!!
When I was in MI my bosses daughter sold GS Cookies and I bought 20 boxes as belated x-mas presents to my RN classmates (10 boxes for me…what, they freeze well!). Boxes were consumed only 10 mins into lecture!
I agree w/ BroccoliHut, GS Cookies make great oatmeal topping.
I’m a tagalong gal, while fiance loves Samoas.
Why can ‘t I seem to find a girl scout here in CA??? =\
We watched Public Enemies the other night. I loved it!
And Girl Scout cookie time already? I need to find a GS and order some ASAP!
By far the Best two girl scout flavors!
4.99 for all that yummy goodness?! Wow!!
samoas and thin mints… yummmmm!
totally jealous that you guys have an ALL YOU CAN EAT SALAD BAR! omg. PLUS you can add protein? sigh… a whole foods salad is easily $10 – minimum
Delicious? Of course…but still, i’m just a college girl on a budget!
your salad looks very good. and all that juicy fruit. i LOVE fruit!
