3-2-1 Style


We’re rollin’ 3-2-1 style this evening!

Starting with the 3-2-1 Treadmill Workout I completed after work. You take 6 minute segments and break them up into 3 minute, 2 minute and 1 minute intervals, increasing the speed as you go!

0:00-5:00 4.0
5:00-8:00 6.0
8:00-10:00 6.5
10:00-11:00 7.0
11:00-35:00 Repeat minutes 5-11 four more times
35:00-40:00 4.0
Total: 3.8 miles

Um, why have I not thought of this before? What a great workout, that seriously went by in a flash! I had no chance of getting bored because every time I looked down, it was time to switch it up to a different speed. Next time I think I might start my 3 minute interval at 6.5, because I felt like I could keep doing the 6 minute segments forever. Which, is good, but I like to really challenge myself on the treadmill. :)

Dinner is following a similar 3-2-1 pattern, starting with dessert (the best course, clearly.) We’ve got 3 Thin Mints! I’m attempting to hold off on eating these until it least 8:00. If I scarf them too early, I’ll want more later. That just won’t fly, people!


Next, we’ve got 2 pieces of Parmesan Garlic Bread!


My Mom made parmesan garlic bread alllll the time growing up, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. :) For my rendition, I took an EarthGrains Whole Wheat Thin Bun,


and topped it with this cast of characters: butter, garlic powder & parmesan cheese.


(I may have gotten a bit aggressive with the garlic powder…)


Broiled to crunchy, savory perfection. UGH I LOVE PARMESAN GARLIC BREAD!


I could seriously eat 20 thin buns worth! :D


Ok, we’ve covered 3, we’ve covered 2, now for 1: a bowl of Italian Wedding Soup! 


I whipped up a batch of my favorite soup yesterday in, honest to goodness, 15 minutes. The only cooking you have to do is to sauté the onions and garlic. The spinach and meatballs heat up while you’re boiling the pasta in the broth!

I have a cookie order to work on this week, which means I am on day 1 of my 3 day process – aka making cookie dough! AND, we all know what tonight is…Bachelor Finale!!

Who will he pick?! Tell me in 3…2…1… GO!

(in case you were wondering, I say he picks neither of the girls!!)

    Sadly, probably Vienna. They are both so corny. I think Tenley is adorable, and I hope Ali is the next Bachelorette!

    I do think you might be right though… they did say it was “the most dramatic finale ever”, so maybe he doesn’t pick anyone?

    YUM! My mom use to make parmesan garlic toast the same way when I was a little girl. Now I make it when I have tomato soup :) It’s the best!

    Wow, that does sound like a great treadmill workout. I’m going to try this sometime this week.

    My mom use to make the same garlic toast too!!! Only, sometimes, she would add cheese and melt it on top. That was a real treat! :)

    My vote is for Tinley! But, nothing ever goes to plan in Bachelor Land.

  8. I low when workouts fly by and are challenging. Makes it so much more fun to workout.

    I haven’t been watching The Bachelor but based on interviews I say he doesn’t pick either.

    That soup looks delicious, I love Italian Wedding! I’ll definitely be trying that recipe soon.
    For some reason I decided to watch the bachelor tonight (I know nothing about whats going on) so I really don’t know which girl he should pick…

    I like the 3-2-1 interval idea, I’m going to use that next time I work out. So I’ll let you know how it went in a month or so ;)

    a couple of things– I completely thought Jake wasn’t going to pick either of the girls too! I was very VERY disappointed to see him end with Vienna, but I must admit that they look very happy.

    Your photo of your soup that is on the left of the pair underneath the “15 minutes” section is very nice :) beautiful!
