"It’s the freakin’ weekend, baby I’m about to have me some fun!"
While I may not love, or even like, R Kelly, he sure said it right – happy freakin’ weekend! I kicked things off with an outside trail run – the first in five.long.months! Here’s my happy face:
While it was a little windy, a lot hilly and mucho muddy, I was grateful to have the fresh air on my face and something besides the treadmill under my feet.
There was a ton of other runners on the trail and everyone was shouting their "happy to finally be out of the house" hellos. Very kumbaya!
I ran 4 miles in 37 minutes. Definitely not my fastest time, at all, but after running on the flat, revolving apparatus of death, (The Fitnessista needs to TM that phrase ASAP, love it!) for months, I’ll take it, to be under skies like this!
I can already feel the run in my abs. I love how uneven terrain works your entire body – it hurts so good! After my run, I proceeded to vacuum the entire house, finding a lost attachment under the couch in the process. Could this night get any better?!
Yes, yes it can. We got Wok in Motion for dinner!
Wok in Motion is our faaavorite place to get high quality Chinese food around here.
The chicken is all white meat, the vegetables are extremely fresh and the food is never greasy.
I’d give them 5 out of 5 stars, but they don’t have the option to get brown rice. Ok…I still give them 5 out of 5 stars…their food is that delish.
I always get Chicken & Vegetables. It’s really light and I can eat it without getting that yuck feeling that most Chinese dishes give you. I also always steal some peanuts from Ben’s Kung Pao Chicken for a little extra crunch and flava.
ps, can I just SHOW you how much chicken he got in his Kung Pao?! Un real!
Wok’s handy-dandy take out containers are perfect for lunches, leftovers, etc. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, people!
I’m thinking I’ll be having some Girl Scout Cookies for dessert. I’ve branched out from Thin Mints and am currently obsessing over the Peanut Butter Sandwich cookies. OH MY WORD!!!!!!!
Oh! To answer your questions from this morning – no, I am absolutely not a model! The Datebook sent out a tweet a couple weeks ago asking if anyone wanted to be on the cover, I responded and the rest is history!
In conclusion, while my definition of weekend "fun" may differ slightly than R Kellys – less booze & shenanigans, more vacuuming and Chinese food – I think we can both agree that it’s nice to have a couple days off. Here’s to it! See ya!
