Milk & Cookies

Hello, hello!

The rain continues to fall here in central Iowa – but it least 98% of the snow has melted. It’s so funny to see your city covered in 3 feet of snow one day, and the next it’s all gone. Thanks rain! 8)

Poor football…left on the back porch to sit in the snow all winter long. Now it’s getting rained on. Can’t catch a break! ;)

Shortly after breakfast I went grocery shopping where I got a 6-pack of Coke Zero for free! It was a buy “x” amount of pop and you got this mini pack free.

I was especially jazzed because they came in these new, easy-to-use zippers. Instead of having to wrestle with your pop to try and get it out of the death-like grip these things usually have on them, now you just zip them right out! Plus, there’s less environmental risks with animals getting caught in them, etc.

Oh my gosh, I also randomly stumbled upon these at the store!

Did anybody else use to eat these for, seriously, every school event/soccer game? It was either these or Little Debbie snacks. Ugh, I can still taste them…yuck!

When I got home I realized the gym just wasn’t going to happen. I had already showered and there is too much on my plate today to trek all the way there, workout, then re-shower. Lame excuse, I know. Anyways, I made do and completed a killer cardio circuit that anyone could do at home!

8 Minute At-Home Cardio Circuit:

  1. 60 jumping jacks
  2. 2 minutes jump rope
  3. 60 high knees
  4. 60 butt kicks
  5. 40 crunches
  6. 20 reverse crunches
  7. 1 minute rest

Actually, you don’t even need a real jump rope to do this. You could mimic having one and be just fine. My heart was bumpin’ and I did the circuit 4 times. My abs are sore already! :D

After my workout I whipped up some Whipped Ricotta Banana Oatmeal!

In the mix:

  • 1/3 cup old fashioned oats
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 banana
  • vanilla
  • cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup ricotta cheese
  • almond butter

Silky, luscious and smooth – I love this combo!

It’s almost like cheesecake, and with a spoonful of almond butter, I was in Heaven.

Ok, these really took me to Heaven!

Ahhhh! (those are Angels singing!)

I’m making a St. Patty’s Day inspired dessert for lunch at my parent’s house tomorrow, which happens to incorporate these bad boys. So, I had some oreos and milk for an after lunch snack.

IS there, I ask you, ANYTHING more heartwarming than oreos dunked in milk?! o…m…g… From now on, whenever I’m having a bad day, I’m breaking out the oreos and milk. You’ve been warned.

Ben and I are off to the mall – it’s shoe shoppin’ time! :D

Regular, or Double Stuff? Plain or flavored?

Regular, plain or mint. Double stuff makes me nauseous!

Ok, now I want a cookie! Those mint oreos are awesome. We had those sandwich cookies at everything, I remember arranging them in our team number in middle school for open house (everyone was split b/n three teams & you just rotated those teachers). Ah, memories :)
