Riveting Breakfast Conversations

23

Hello!

Well, I totally bailed on dinner plans last night because we ended up staying at Ben’s parent’s house to watch UNI completely upset the top ranked team in the country, Kansas – BOOOOOYAH!!!!! Think of how many brackets this messed up… UNI = ballers. Love ‘em. So proud!

We ordered Taco Pizza from Godfather’s for dinner. Do you have a Godfather’s in your area? Completely TDF – it’s the pizza of my youth. I used to go there all the time growing up, playing on the pinball machines until our pizza was ready. Ahhh, memories. ;) Plus their Taco Pizza cannot be beat. Totally cheesy with TONS of Taco Doritos on top. Yum! What’s your favorite specialty pizza? I also enjoy a good trip to the islands with Hawaiian pizza.

This morning Ben and I woke up bright and early (literally, I had to shake him out of his slumber!) to go meet my parent’s for breakfast at Gateway Market!

My parent’s have been on Spring Break this week (both work in the school system) and they wanted to end it on a high note with a nice breakfast out. We happily obliged!

The last time I went to Gateway for breakfast, I ordered the Irish Steel Cut Oatmeal and it was so good, I knew I had to get it again. Totally guilty of being a repeat dish offender!

Chewy, lumpy oats drizzled in sweet maple syrup and brown sugar. Heaven! While we ate, we all discussed the different types of oats there are and what makes them different from each other. Riveting conversation, I’m telling you.

Afterwards Ben and I hopped over to the grocery store to get the weekly necessities and learned that pizza rolls are now considered part of the young Thai coconut family. Interesting! ;)

We also snagged some Starby’s, which I am now enjoying while typing to you fine people.

Believe it or not, my Mom and I are heading BACK out to face the shopping crowds. I’ve got an Old Navy/Gap/Banana 30% off oupon that needs usin’!

Last night’s dinner is on for tonight. :D

Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon!

Steel cut oats are great but I never have the patience to make them at home. I think I’m going to try the crock pot method.

Ah you lucky thing, heading out with vouchers to spend!!
I don’t really like pizza tbh…but I can imagine goat’s cheese and cranberry and date would be amazing! With some squash….oohh, I need to make a homemade pizza :P
    Have a good day!

Booo! I love a good upset, but UNI’s win totally destroyed my bracket. :)

Fav specialty pizza: The Special from The Pizza Stop in the tiny town my parents grew up in: bacon, ham, pepperoni, banana peppers, green peppers, and tons of cheese. The cheese turned yellow from all the banana peppers…amazing!

I see from the comments that there is some debate between Godfather’s and Happy Joe’s for taco pizza. We have both in Fargo, and I happen to love them both. As long as it doesn’t include olives, I’m easy to please with a taco pizza. I almost like Pizza Corner’s Chicken Alfredo pizza. I don’t know if you have that there or not. It’s located out of Valley City, ND, so I don’t know how far out they sell.

The sweet potato fries were delicious last night, by the way. I don’t think I left you comment about that already, but I apologize if I did. I made the ‘drizzle’ with EV olive oil, garlic salt, pepper, cinnamon, and ginger. I couldn’t decide from your advice and the comments what to do, so I did a mixture. I cooked for the parents, and they loved it. My next adventure will be the gnocchi!

    Cheers!

I loved Godfather’s. I had almost every birthday party in their upstairs room when I was growing up. And yeah, their pizza was totally TDF. Sadly we don’t have one anymore :( (the building is now a discount smoke shop), there is one about 30 minutes aways but it’s really scary (really bad area).
Your breakfast looks incredibly yummy. And we were sooooo happy to see UNI beat Kansas. Bill Self used to coach here and people here still hate him for leaving the way he did (although we have a great coach now).

Ohhh massive upset last night! My hub was yelling “no way!” at the TV a lot! haha.

And also oohhhh pizza! My fave. I love so many kinds it’s hard to pick one. Our fave pizza joint does a balsamic one which is tdf and also a veggie pesto which probably wins my vote. SO good!

I’m a Kansas girl, so that loss resulted in a rather sad night for me. Wahhhhh!!

On the plus side, those oats look very yummy! :D

GO Panthers!! I went to college just up the road — so definitely had some great times in CF as well!

Sounds crazy but taco pizza from CASEY’S (as in, the ‘general store’) is the only taco pizza for me. Absolutely delish! Hawaiian pizza is also love of mine… and I actually enjoy Papa Murphy’s.

We were at Gateway for lunch. Had their great fish tacos…then had to come home and try your 3-2-1 to burn off lunch. changes speeds distracts you from realizing you’re doing 5 miles.

Steel cut oats are one of my favorites. Not sure why I don’t eat them more often. Looks like a cute diner:)

    Hahaha – gotta love shopping!
I wish people ate more oatmeal in Brazil – I´ve never found it in a restaurant before! And it looks so amazing.. :D
    Have a great week, girl!

Godfather’s taco pizza is to die for! Good thing they sell it by the slice for lunch or I’d be in trouble…
