There’s some good eats goin’ on this morning!
Oh pardon me, good morning and TGIF!
Ok, back to these eats! Breakfast is going to be killer. I’m taking it on the go, and we’ve got all the important food groups covered.
Hand fruits: check. A crispy, sour-sweet Pink Lady Apple.
Nut butters: check. Nothing finer than a big ol’ dallop of almond butter to dip said sour-sweet apple into.
Cookies Carbs: check!
You’ve heard it approx five times by now, so say it with me – MyBlogSpark sent me some granola to try…
Seriously though, included in my gigantic, seemingly bottomles package of Cascadian Farm products that MyBlogSpark sent me to try, was this Dark Chocolate Almond Granola!
Mmkay, it’s basically ground up cookies, but I don’t even care because this granola is to die for!!! It tastes like crumbled up oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, with big clusters of crunchy oats studded with dark chocolate chips. I had to hide the box because I couldn’t keep my hands out of it.
It’s that good – but clearly more of a dessert than anything else!
Lunch is pretty amazing as well. A Kashi Chicken Pasta Pomodoro frozen entree and some kiwi!
I was kind of at a loss for what to take for lunch today. It’s Friday, so most of the fresh produce I got at the store last weekend is gone, and I didn’t have any leftovers since I had…pie…for dinner last night.
I finally remembered I had this guy in the back of my freezer and decided to give it a whirl. I picked it up back when I bought my Kashi Mayan Harvest Bake entree (the BEST!) and was impressed by the nutri stats. 19g of protein?! Thumbs up!
The serving size is pretty fabulous too. I stuck my finger in the shot so you could get a sense of how big it is. I’m pretty pumped about it actually!
Did you know…
Also known as the Chinese gooseberry, the kiwifruit was renamed for export marketing reasons in the 1950s; briefly to melonette, and then by New Zealand exporters to kiwifruit.
Thanks Wikipedia. Hahaha, that reminds me – see if you can guess this quote:
Wikipedia is the best thing ever. Anyone in the world can write anything they want about any subject, so you know you are getting the best possible information.
Any guesses??
I kind of wish kiwis were still called melonettes. How cute, right?
It’s been pouring all night and morning, which is putting me in a warm latte kind of mood. To Starbucks I go!
Oh I’m making something with goat cheese tonight, but I’m still unsure as to what it’s going to be…any recipes/suggestions are welcome.
Have a GREAT day!

What are some of your all time favorite movies – the ones you can watch again and again? What’s your favorite movie genre?
My favorite movies are action movies, but the ones I could watch over and over are Elf, Little Women and Miss Congeniality (I know…)
Oh, by the way, Avatar was like a souped up, more violent Fern Gully. It was good, but it would have been spectacular in 3D!!!

I must admit that I loooove chick flicks. I also love comedies. Not really into action or sci-fi stuff.
I feel like the quote is Conan O’Brien?
I could always watch Juno, or X3
hahahah when i first saw the preview for avatar, i shrugged and thought, “hm, looks like fern gully.”
my favorite is “my best friends wedding,” but i could watch the break up all day everyday.
thats so interesting about the kiwi!! i ate gooseberries ALL THE TIME in africa (they are little orange pods that you eat with the skin on. KIND OF like a kumquat. kind of.) had no idea they were relatives of the kiwi! have u ever had a mini kiwi? they are so adorable.
happy fridayyyyyy!
Hey Kristen! This is my FAVORITE recipe with goat cheese! Goat cheese is a staple in my diet, I add it to most salads and anything I can!
This was from cooking light a while back. I serve it over pasta, spinach, and is delicious with asparagus. Hope you like! xoxo
Ellen
Chicken Stuffed with Goat Cheese and Garlic
4 ounces goat cheese softened
3 tablespoons thinly sliced fresh basil, divided
1 tablespoon minced garlic
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1 jar Italian herb pasta sauce or 1 can Italian diced tomatoes
3 whole garlic cloves
3 cups hot cooked angel hair pasta
1. Combine goat cheese, 2 tablespoons basil, and minced garlic, set aside
2. Flatten out chicken breast. Divide the cheese mixture evenly among breast halves. Roll up jelly-roll fashion. Tuck in sides; secure each roll with wooden toothpicks
3. Heat the pasta sauce or tomatoes and whole garlic cloves in a large skillet over medium heat; add chicken. Cover and cook 25 minutes or until chicken is done. Serve over pasta. Garnish with 1 tablespoon basil. Yield 4 servings.
The Hangover and The Holiday are two movies I can watch over and over. LOVE kiwi! I have been wanting some and seeing your pics just made that craving even stronger!
-I love the older movies such as Sound of Music, The Parent Trap (original), Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory…I could watch these over and over! This drives my husband crazy, because I’m weird and not into newer movies as much!
Michael Scott!
This is embarrassing but the movie I can watch over and over again is Blue Crush.
haha- if it makes you feel better I can too!!
FERN GULLY! love that film
What are some of your all time favorite movies – the ones you can watch again and again?BLACK BEAUTY!! Or Love Actually…or Titanic….
What’s your favorite movie genre? Rom coms and sad films :p I like a good cry in the cinema! Though I do love me some horror too :p
THe office!
LOL i love that you compared Avatar to Fern Gully. The other day a friend asked how it was and I said it was Matrix meets Fern Gully.
Movies i can watch over and over again :
Beaches
Crazy/Beautiful
Steel Magnolias
White Oleander
That is totally a Michael Scott, The Office quote. Hilarious. The movies I can watch over and over again is Adventures in Babysitting and One Fine Day.
Weekend at Bernies 1 and 2. Best movies to watch over and over and over. I also can’t get enough of Ski Patrol & Conair. Chick flicks I can watch over and over: How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days and Sweet Home Alabama! PS thanks for your Avatar thoughts
Touche!
Oh that’s hilarious…when Avatar came out I saw it in 3D and the next day they were discussing it on Star asking for reviews. My review for them was basically “a cross between US History (what we did to the Indians) and an adult-version of fern gully”. Love that we are in tune
Easy! Michael Scott from The Office. It’s from the episode where Darryl was asking for a raise. So funny.

I love goat cheese. My favorite thing to make make is a goat cheese spinach beet salad with a maple vinaigrette. I found this recipe from the magazine Eating Well years ago. Here’s a link. Enjoy, so delicious!

Totally a Michael Scott quote although it could be a 30 Rock as well when they tricked Jenna.
I could watch the following over and over again and quote them:
Back to the Future
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Clueless
The Shawshank Redemption
Any 80s flick
Hi Kristen!
I know how you love your asparagus, so here is a great goat cheese and asparagus pasta! It is really easy too which is a plus for a Friday night
And I forgot to put the link…I do that ALL the time! Here goes try two:

Totally with you on loving Little Women! It is one of the very best.
I wanted to make you peanut butter pie with the oreo crust last night but I couldn’t find the recipe! Is it still on your site? I have been craving that ever since you made it a few months ago and it is high time I make it!
I had some leftover rice and beans the other day and added goat cheese, stirred it all up and it was nice and gooey with the melted cheese. I wasn’t sure if they combination would work but oh, it did! Goat cheese on a thin crust pizza with veggies also sounds delish.
I love that you had pie for dinner last night. Awesome job.
I wanted to put my fingers in my ears and say “lalalallalala” when you talked about granola being like cookies. It is my aim in life to believe that granola is a healthy breakfast cereal! It’s just so dang good! But every time I see a recipe for it, I curse the world!
Goat cheese and veggie pizza!
I love As Good As It Gets and all the Harry Potter Movies…oh and Mona Lisa Smile.
I like to put some goat cheese with sauteed and roasted veggies in with a bit of pasta and mix. So yummy!
I could watch the Holiday and Two Weeks Notice all the time!
Wow, that granola looks fantastic! It could be dangerous around me.
My favorite movies that I could watch over and over again are: Dumb & Dumber, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the original one) and Hairspray (the new one). Favorite genre is comedy! I’m always up for a laugh.
I love those really dorky stoner comedies – the Hangover, Pineapple Express, Superbad, stuff like that! lol! Also a big sucker for coming-of-age stories a la Breakfast Club, Rushmore, Almost Famous, Dead Poets Society, Ferris Bueller’s Day off…
I watch more shows than movies though – Arrested Development, Flight of the Conchords, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Californication, Gossip Girl, Weeds, 30 Rock… I think I’ll go home and watch some TV now, haha. I don’t watch as much as it sounds like!
Ahhh, great Michael Scott quote. His character has been awesome during the last few episodes of the Office, lovably awkward!
Legally Blonde (hahaha) and Wedding Crashers (probably hands down one of the most hilarious movies ever)!!!
Since it’s Friday…I would definitely put that goat cheese on pizza!
I’m craving a kiwi after reading this post!!!
I can watch musicals over and over and over again, I love them!
OH my god! Who doesnt LOVE ELF!?!?!?! THAT MOVIE IS AMAZING!
My Favorite movies:
Anchorman, Breakfast at Tiffanys, The Princess Bride, Old School, Pretty Woman, Pride & Prejudice, Up, Amelie and Bridget Jones Diary
my favorite movie of all time is full metal jacket…after that i like the big lebowski, man on the moon(the jim carrey one), swingers, and waiting for guffman. i can watch horror movies *forever* though, even really lame eighties or troma ones. my bf is obsessed, thank God, lol.
quote is michael scott from the office! lovesit!
I love action movies but don’t tend to repeat watch them. Mostly I repeat watch chick flicks and comedies. Films I’ve seen the most are Clueless, Ferris Bueller, St. Elmo’s Fire, Workin Girl . . . Ooh When Harry met Sally and You’ve got Mail too! I’ve no idea about the quote but it made me chuckle. A British Commedienne called Jennifer Saunders went on a talk show once and said Wikipedia had her down as married to a guy she hadn’t even met!
I vote for a goat cheese and roasted veggie panini.
Favorite movies include: Practical Magic, Dirty Dancing, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?, Walk the Line and The Big Lebowski.
It’s funny what you said about the dark chocolate granola because my mom is seriously addicted to that stuff. She’s actually had to stop buying it because she would just sit with the box and eat it, haha.
The special effects/3D really really MADE Avatar. Actually, Jake Sully was kind of cute
hehe
Favorite movie to watch over and over again, The Sandlot, Goonies, Newsies…all childhood favorites!
Also favorite recipe with Goat Cheese really is stuffed chicken. ha. Just stuff the chicken with goat cheese, spinach and some herbs like basil or oregeno and you are good to go!
Cook on the pan or bake it after rolling around in some bread crumbs. Of course you can substitute the spinach for anything, I make it with brocolli instead for my bf.
Most of the movies I watch over and over are holiday movies (like one of your picks): Family Stone, Love Actually, and The Family Man. Others: Sex and the City, Dan in Real Life, the Lethal Weapon series, and the Die Hard series.
I LOVEEEE ELF!!! I can’t get enough of it! Even if it’s July i’ll still watch it haha. And I’ve watched The Blind Side 3 times in the past 3 weeks. Gotta love Sandra Bullock!!
I’m not usually one to re-read books or re-watch movies but if I’m with other people, I will of course. Funny movies are the best to re-watch because I love catching new jokes. Wedding Crashers, Zoolander, Elf, Anchorman, The Hangover… for example.
I kind of wish they were called Melonettes still, too!
I was totally going to comment on your last post about goat cheese, but I forgot. haha
) It’s one of or most popular sandwiches. Ok, so the sandwich consists of:
I work at a sandwich shop, and we make a sandwich called the “Jane Rare” (yeah, we’re cheesy. It’s also a used book store, so it kind of makes sense.
-ciabatta bread
- horseradish mayo
- goat cheese
- mesclun greens
- rare roast beef
Easy Peasy.
So, maybe some of these flavors could be used together to make some sort of delicious thing.
I also love goat cheese on salads, with some fruits (not all kinds, but strawberry is good, and mango is good too!)
Orrrr, just on a wrap, bagel, or pita bread. Simple. I’m boring like that.

Try “The Magdalene Sisters” It is based on a true story…if you like that sort of thing.
I love funny or romantic movies. Grumpy Old Men, Urban Cowboy, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner (the old one), and old Doris Day movies! I also love old black & white horror movies w/ Bella Lugosi, Vincent Price, etc. You hardly ever see those on tv anymore.
Hello, like the Madagaskar movies, awesome movie!
