What Are You Curious About?

16

Good morning – happy Monday!

I’m certain that Iowa will no longer be considered a land locked state after this week is over. The rain will not stop! My Mom and I had to navigate around the lakes and rivers that have consumed the sidewalks and roads on our walking route this morning. 8O

The good news is that the wildlife around here seem to love it, and they were out in full force this morning. If we were bird enthusiasts, we would have been extra pleased to spot plenty of cardinal and yellow finch during our walk (and the biggest worm I have EVER seen – nauseating…!!)

In other news I’m packin’ 3 piecers today! Breakfast:

Getting down to the bottom of this jar!!

2. Pink Lady Apple

To be sliced, dipped and enjoyed at work. :)

3. Cultural Revolution Raspberry Yogurt

Ok, I’m happy to report that I liked the raspberry flavor WAY more than the blueberry. The blueberry was oddly sour and tangy – even more so than Greek yogurt. Perhaps I got a bad container? Ew. At any rate, raspberry =  ace.

Lunch’s 3 piecer is super fresh.

1. Mixed Spinach Salad

In the mix:

  • Baby spinach
  • Mixed Greens
  • Carrots
  • Dried cranberries
  • Sliced almonds

I also picked up a new jar of Annie’s Lite Raspberry Vinaigrette which I’ll be using for dressing. I keep a bottle at work so I don’t have to bring a separate container everyday. Oh also – I’ve found that Annie’s dressings are the cheapest at my local Super Target vs grocery stores!

2. Pepper Jack Cheese Stick. Loooove me some pepper jack cheese!!!

 3. CHERRIES!!!!!

Fresh cherries are one of my very favorite things, and they were on sale for $2.99/lb vs the usual $5.99/lb at the grocery store, so I pounced! Do you like cherries?

All together now! :)

In other, other news, last night I was watching a special on the Discovery Channel celebrating their 25th year of being on air. It’s no secret that I am a huge nerd when it comes to history, geology and the world in general, so I was particularly pumped to see an hour featuring their “best of” and behind the scenes footage.

Part of the special involved interviewing people about what they’re curious about, as curiosity leads to discovery. One guy said he was curious to know how his remote control works, while another said he was curious to know what the future looks like. One kid said he was curious about EVERYTHING!!

I want to know – what are you curious about?

Have a great, and curious, day!!

I want to know how a GPS works. I understand there’s satellites involved, but explain it to me in layman terms!

I’ve noticed the same thing with prices at Super Target vs HyVee! My favorite Greek yogurt (Chobani-yum!) Is easily 60 cents less at Target!

Cherries, I am on the fence with. Sometimes I’ll grab a couple, and it won’t be too bad. Othertimes I just can’t enjoy them. Hmm

Oh wow, I am with you on computers. Seriously, how? And electronics in general :) .
Cherries are… ok. A little too sour for me usually.

I’m curious about a lot of random things, but not super-technical things like computers. (Just can’t wrap my head around it!) For those who like that kind of stuff, though, check out http://www.howstuffworks.com. My engineer-type friends love it.

I am also curious about “everything”. I keep my mind open to many possibilites. Things I use on a daily basis like appliances and such, I find there is always another way to do something and sometimes I have found they work better than my way! :-) For example, yesterday I read if you wipe down your shower once a year with car wax, it will keep it shiny and cut down on any buildup. I never would have thought that on my own. haha I am with you on the cherries. I have to have seedless though. Yum!

Hm…at the moment, I’m especially curious about pre-pregnancy things – vitamins, diet, doctors appointments…and if the fact that both my husband and I being big babies means we’re doomed to have monster babies. In the next few months, I need to find some answers to these things.

Great eats! I’m most curious about history and interpretations of literature…I can’t say I’m curious about how math works or chemistry type stuff ;-)

I’m curious about a lot of things. History is one of the biggest ones… and definitely the supernatural.

I was so excited to find a copy of American Wife at a yard sale on Saturday… and of course I had to buy it. Scored it for $1! I’m still working my way through Spoken From the Heart, so that one will have to wait til I’m done with that!

While in Japan/visiting S. Korea I couldn’t and still can’t wrap my head around subways. All these tracks underground for miles and miles, and how the heck were they all built. Crazy to me. Just crazy.
