It’s been another beautiful day in the Midwest!
The Farmer’s Market was BUMPIN’…and HOT! So hot! Luckily these belly dancers performing at the market were wearing next to nothing and were able to stay cool.
Home-grown, baby!
Ohhh, anyways!
Today’s produce was bountiful and the samples plentiful. Our first stop was, and usually is, Great Harvest! You should have seen the line for their fresh cinnamon rolls. Down the street, I say!
I stuck with a sample of Dutch Apple Cinnamon Swirl Bread- omg – chewy, sweet, soft, and cinnamony. One of the best things ever…
And Chocolate BATTER Bread!! J’adore!
I also HAD to make a stop at the nut butter stand. Their Honey Roasted is unforgettable…
Cheers!
We’re finally getting to a point in the summer where more than half of the produce I’m seeing at the stands is grown in Iowa. Love that!
Here’s my loot!
Some crunchy, fat snap peas,
a flawless, $.50 summer squash,
and some fresh chevre. I was hoping to get this company’s chive flavor today, as I had a sample of it a couple weeks ago and haven’t been able to get it out of my head.
Alas, the experience must have been similar for many others, because they were all out by the time I got there! I have a plan to jazz up this plain flavor though. Pumped!
After we got home I chose going for a glorious 4.5 mile walk on the trail near my house, over running errands. Errands can wait when the sky is clear, the weather is warm and the trail is calling your name!
Eats have been very sporadic and random today. They’ve included not one, but two cheese sticks (one mozzarella, one pepper jack!) and an apple and almond butter.
I haven’t had regular almond butter in MONTHS, since I was enjoying my crunchy roasted flaxseed almond butter. I forgot how creamy, smooth and luscious it is!
Add a crunchy, sweet Pink Lady Apple,
and you’ve got yourself a stellar snack, my friend.
Ben went golfing with a friend so I had quite possibly the most random, early dinner I’ve ever had…fresh cherries and cauliflower. I mean…??
Clearly I am due for a much needed trip to the grocery store…
Gotta stock up on more cherries, too. This was the last of my stash and they’re still on sale at the store for $2.99!
This evening I shall be enjoying (?) When in Rome. There was like 7 people in line behind me at the Red Box and I panicked. Before I knew it I was scurrying out the door with this movie and no recollection of how it happened.
I DO love Kristin Bell though, so it may not be too bad – plus it’s set in Rome which is where I’ll be heading in no time! Whee!
What are you up tonight?
What types of movies do you like?
I’m not much of a chick flick gal. I much prefer action or thriller/suspense type movies. I’m actually pondering seeing The A-Team again – it was so good!
