I’ve Run Out of Excuses!

21

Good afternoon! Weekend treatin’ you well so far? :D

I spent a couple hours hunkered down at ‘Bucks this morning with a Skinny No-foam Vanilla Latte, a Pink Lady Apple and my laptop!

Both my personal and blog email accounts needed some serious TLC, and the coffee shop was the perfect place to hunker down and get some work done. :)

Afterwards I ran some errands, then headed to the library where I picked up THIS BABY – WHEEE!!!! You all shamed me into reading the series after I confessed to only relying on the movies to get my Twilight fix. Technically, I should be reading the 4th book, since that’s what movie I’m up to, but I decided to do it right and start from the beginning. :)

Oh, guess what was waiting on my doorstep when I got home?! A Trader Joe’s Care Package from my in-laws for my birthday!!!!

They are so sweet and thoughtful to have done this, and they included ALL my faves. Roasted Flaxseed Almond Butter, Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels,

Raspberry Vinaigrette and, the best granola on earth, Nature’s Path Pumpkin Flaxseed Granola!!

My in-law’s are the best! :D

I’m going to head out for a run in a little bit, so I had a light lunch of Cheerios in Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze.

I can’t run on a full stomach but knew I needed something other than an apple to get by on!

"Peter, those are Cheerios."

I haven’t run since last Monday (I think?) so I’m anxious to get out there. Every time I tried last week, either:

a. It was raining

b. It was 1,000,000 degrees

c. I was frolicking with vampires

d. I was enjoying a cold one on a patio

No excuses today.

Talk to you later!

In response to your “d” excuse, a “cold one” is what they call the vampires in the Twilight series…so for some readers perhaps “c” and “d” could be the same excuse. I don’t like the series personally, but don’t fret because I think I’m the only person who has read them that hasn’t liked them. Movies are decent, though. :)

And lucky you with the Trader Joe’s gifts! My bestie and I are going to the Minneapolis area August 10/11 for a Hanson concert (yes, the Mmmbop Hanson) and we’re going to TJ’s during that trip. Can’t wait!

Have a great day! No excuses!

So glad you got the book! They are much better than the movie. The emotion you get from the book is profound. I loved reading them. Totally made me feel like when I was younger and head over heels insane. LOL

That is one fantastic bday package!!

I agree that the books are better than the movies are. As you can see they are pretty thick and I think you will find you surprise yourself by how fast you fly through them once you start! I had plenty of “I am done already?!?!” moments :-) I love your trader joes package! I went a couple months back when I was in Cali visiting my family, but passed up on the roasted flaxseed almond butter and then wished I hadn’t later. I am DEF not making that mistake next time!! :-D

You are going to love the books. The books are SO much better than the movies – the movies are an embarassing peek into the Twilight world. In the books you totally understand what’s going on. And when you’re all done you should go to the author’s website and read the “5th” book, basically a book that was never finished but she lets you read what is done, and it’s basically the first book but from Edward’s point of view and it’s SO OMG.

    OMG. I can’t wait until you read this…. ;)

Even though you have seen the movies you should most definitely read all of the books. They are soooooooo much better and more inclusive than the movies.

I found a new (well, new to me anyway) fruit today that you might like. It’s a plumogranate. It’s a cross between a plum and an apricot and they are SOOO good! Really sweet and just totally delicious. If you can find them you should definitely try them!

The books are soooo gooooood. I read then so fast! I haven’t seen the movie(s) and most probably won’t either *gasp* I just prefer books more :)

I honestly think Twilight is a really horrible set of books. But personal preference, I guess. Just don’t let IBE get away with the stuff Edward does to Bella! You deserve way better than that.

yay! you got the book! when i started reading the series, i just bought twilight, wanting to see what all the hype was about…then before i even finished twilight i had to go back and bought the rest cause i couldn’t imagine finishing it and not being able to move directly on to the next…i was a reading zombie for about a week. everything failed to exist. i think i even lost some weight cause i would forget to eat! hahahaha.

and the nature’s path granola is my absolute favorite!

LOL I can’t wait to read what you think of Twilight…those books were SO addicting the first time I read them, but then I went back for a re-read and they turned totally stupid. I think I was able to slow down and actually think logically about what I was reading. Sometimes you gotta just ignore logic with some books though…reading is meant to take you out of reality, right? :)

Can your in-laws send me a care package, please? :D That is an AWESOME present to get in the mail! Good luck w/ your run!!

Awesome you got the book! Sorry we shamed ya into it, it’s just that we love them so much, we want everyone to read them! After you read the regular set, you should read the “Short Second Life of Bree Tanner” it’s a novella, that she wrote afterwards. It’s from the perspective of the “newborns”. Your goodies looked awesome, we don’t have a trader joes anywhere near where i live either!!

I have not read the Twilight series either. I think I may be the last person on earth not to get into it?

The closest TJ’s is 40 minutes away and it just opened – I think I might have to start making the drive : ) So excited! That is the best care package!
