The heat never came!
We’re sittin’ pretty at 83 degrees right now, and the cool breeze plus mild temps (compared to what we’ve been experiencing,) lured me out under the umbrella on my back deck to read all afternoon. 8)
Eclipse, natch.
I broke for a lunch of a sliced apple and Blue Diamond Nut-Thins & Sundried Tomato-Basil Goat Cheese when the growl of my stomach was loud enough to take my concentration off of Edward for a moment.
I picked up some of these Smokehouse Almond Nut Thins at the store today, to pair with the goat cheese I got at the Farmer’s Market.
I’ve always been curious about these babies, and they were on sale, so I took it as a sign that I should definitely pick some up.
The nutrition stats are pretty good, but I especially love the ingredient list which only includes: rice flour, almonds, potato starch, safflower oil and seasoning!
I dug out a couple spoonfuls of goat cheese and got my dip on.
Yummmmm, yum, yum, yum!
The tomato basil goat cheese was just excellent. There were chewy pieces of sundried tomatoes in it, and the the basil flavor was juuuust right.
The nut thins were FANTASTIC! They remind me of these Japanese rice crackers, called sembei, that I used to buy from street vendors when I lived in Japan for a summer in college. Ahhh, memories!
Fast forward 3 hours later – insert completing half my chores – and we’ve come to the dinner portion of our show! Grilled Chicken Florentine!
MyBlogSpark sent me a Macaroni Grill Frozen Dinner for 2 to try out and since it involved zero work, besides spilling the contents into a pan and heating, I thought it would be a perfect dinner for this lazy Sunday evening.
The bag contained grilled chicken, spinach and farfelle pasta, with a rich parmesan garlic sauce. Normally I’m not so down with frozen dinners, as the fat and salt content is usually exTREMEly high.
This dinner wasn’t any different, but I was curious to try it, so I took the plunge. It was actually good! Suuuper rich and decadent.
The cheese sauce was thick, and the pasta was cooked just right.
The portion size was also extremely generous. Plenty big for 2!
I probably wouldn’t buy it on my own since I’d rather make meals fresh, but for you frozen food connoisseurs out there, I bed you’d dig this!
In other news, is it seriously Sunday night already?! I feel like I was just leaving work 2 hours ago! Time flies when you’re having fun, I suppose.
Ok, making a verbal commitment to the world so I can’t go back on it. Putting down my book to finish up my chores riiiiiight, now! I. am. a. nerd.
Good night!

Do you ever suffer from the Sunday night blues?

I’m having the SNBs right now! Do I REALLY have to work tomorrow?!
This is my last week officially san-Sunday night blues, so I’m trying to soak it in! School starts next week and it’s (even more) back to the grind!
I get the Sunday night blues and I always have! So did my dad, and even my grandpa, and they loved their jobs. I swear it runs in the family.
I have a pretty irregular schedule at my job, but when I do get two days off in a row I always get the blues at the end. It’s so hard to be relaxing and realize you have to go back to work tomorrow.
I just found your blog and I really like it! I read through some of your top posts and its really fun to read about all your adventures, especially the travel ones!
I agree, those nut thins really taste like rice crackers.
I love getting sucked into books like that! The only part I don’t like is the “void” after you finish a really great one…good thing you have more Twilight left!
I had so much I wanted to get done this weekend but didn’t accomplish much of any of it! We did some stuff around the house, hanging pictures and rearranging stuff… I guess after 2 years I should make this place mine!
Definitely the SNB’s… so much I want to do here at home and I just sit at work thinking about it!
I used to get the Sunday night blues every weekend. But now I try to keep myself so busy (by working in the kitchen or garden, or driving to town to watch a movie) on Sundays that I don’t have time to worry about Monday mornings. I also try not to put too many things on my to-do list for Mondays, especially in the morning. I’m pretty groggy Monday mornings, so I’m not that productive then anyhow.
Sunday night blues every week–and I LOVE my job. Go figure!
The Sunday Night Blues are the worst! Why is it that we must suffer from them?
Enjoy the rest of your night.
I do suffer from the blues!! I absolutely agree
that it feels like I just left!
Totally suffer from Sunday night blues. Especially tonight, since I’m a teacher, facing my first Monday tomorrow!
I may have missed it in a previous post…but, why the affection for goat cheese?
Who DOESN’T get the Sunday-night blues? The weekends are so relaxing and then BOOM, Monday hits. Damn.
xo

Oh yes, the dreaded Sunday Night Syndrome…that’s what I have always called it! Glad I’m not alone!
YES! I call it my Sunday funk. Sometimes it comes on strong after an amazing weekend, sometimes it’s only subtle because I’m still on cloud 9 from that amazing weekend. It is so unpredictable and I hate it. Meh. I love that you LOVE the books
Keep goinggggggg. The last one is the BEST
oh Sunday Night blues. I get them EVERY sunday most of the time.
I want that goat cheese. Our farmer’s market doesn’t have any!
