When in Rome: Vlog!

16

I think I found the solutions to my posting problems: Vlog! Check out my video blog from the rooftop of our hotel in Rome.

Other information:

  • Gelato and pastry shops are ridiculously abundant here. I am going for a vacation record of 8 different flavors of gelato in 8 days, at 8 different shops. Shouldn’t be hard. ;)
  • We visited the Roman Forum and Colosseum yesterday. I still cant wrap my head around the fact that were walking around an area that is over 2000 years old!!!
  • We have had absolutely INCREDIBLE weather here and we enjoy waking up to the sounds of the clanging bell at the basilica across the street from us.
  • I fell flat on my face when we got to Rome. It was wretched, and I have the battle wounds to prove it! Details to come in another vlog!

Were off! Today were seeing the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and The Pantheon. Oh, and eating MORE GELATO! I cant get enough! ;)

whatever views i saw in the background were insane. you are *so* lucky! (try to find sweet basil gelato!) also–your midwest accent is really cute; the way you say “beerrrrrs” made me giggle. :)

I remember being amazed too at how old everything is there and that it is still standing. You are smart to be there now. I went in august several years ago and it was so hot. Almost all I ate was gelato.

Kristin, my love!!! Greetings from Texas – hope you and Ben are having a wonderful time. Tell him I said hi!!! Will miss you next weekend tailgating in Iowa City! (No midnight grilled cheese stand for you!!)

I’m so excited that you’re seeing beautiful Italy. You will love the Vatican, and if you haven’t tried Nutella-flavored gelato, you must. And find a focacceria that sells lots of different flavors of focaccia bread. Yummmm…

Anyways, so excited to hear all the details when you get back, and of course email me your photo album. Miss you! Ciao LG!!

you are adorable my dear. LOVING these Vlogs. Keep them coming. (I also watched Vlog #2!) SOOO sorry about your accident. Are you re-thinking the descision to have the backpack?! On my trip to Greece (coincidentally my best vaca ever posted this AM!!) I used a backpack like yours and it was god-awful to carry. 2 years later on a trip to France I used a rolly suitcase, which was better on my back, but worse on stairways (like in the metro and what not!) Clearly there are pros and cons to each.

You hotel rooftop looks incredible. Ciao!!
