I’m kind of sad right now…it was the last Farmer’s Market of the season today!
I literally cannot believe it’s over.
I feel like I was just at opening day!

Going to the market was something I looked forward to all week long. What’s not to look forward to when you’ve got freshly ground nut butters,

bakery-fresh bread,

and Pupusas waiting for you?

My God the Pupusas!!!
Of course I also adored being able to easily stock up on local produce like vine-ripened tomatoes,

Iowa Sweet Corn,
and dozens of different veggies!

The company wasn’t so bad either.
I loved spending time strolling through the market with my Mom,

Grandma,

girlfriends,

and my love.

It was as if the rain knew to keep away every Saturday morning, and today was no different. The sky was blue, the clouds were fluffy and the sun was shining.
Perfect day to end the season!
Some gorgeous tomatoes caught my eye,
along with those mini pumpkins and gourds you know I adore.
I made sure to stock up on all my faves, like Chipotle Goat Cheese,
butternut squash,
mini pumpkins,
and flavored pasta!
Here’s my loot.
Oh, since it’s Halloween weekend, there was costumes and candy galore. I enjoyed a snickers bar,
and some double bubble gum. WhoooaAAHHH!
After we said our fare-thee-wells, until next year, Ben and I headed over to check out the new location for Trader’s Joes. Should be open in the next week or two. I am DYING of excitement!
Then it was off for a Costco run.
It was packed!
I had “lunch” consisting of a million samples, while Ben enjoyed a hot dog. Hot dog, does he love those hot dogs.
The reason we went to Costco was to pick up some candy for the trick-or-treaters who will be out tonight, and we got so distracted by the samples that we almost walked out without getting the candy!
I usually try and pick up candy that I don’t like, so I don’t eat a ton of it (if you’ve been reading IGE for awhile, then you know I have a candy addiction that rivals a cracked out 6 year old’s) but despite my best intentions I always end up eating it anyways. This year I decided to get candy I do like, but limit myself to 5 or 6 pieces. I might as well enjoy it if I’m going to eat it anyways!
I’m looking forward to the Sour Punch Straws, while Ben can’t wait to get his paws on some skittles.
Muwahahahaha!
Well the Hawkeyes are on in T-minus 45 minutes (let’s see if we can redeem ourselves from last week’s ridiculous loss!) then it’s gym time followed by candy time! Hopefully Ben and I can save some for the trick-or-treaters!!
See you!
