Despite the super late night last night (well, late for me!) I felt surprisingly terrific all day. Riddle me that?! I’ll most likely feel like a zombie circa 2pm tomorrow afternoon but, for now, it’s all good. Plus, it’s a short week!
I was worried that I wouldn’t have enough energy for a workout tonight, but I zipped on over to the gym after work, setup shop on a treadmill planted in front of Ina (ugh I want to BE her!) and zipped through this quick & effective treadmill routine:
Polished it off with 10 minutes on the elliptical at level 5 and called it a night! In and out in less than an hour = my kind of workout. Do you like to spend a lot of time in the gym, or do you prefer to get in and out?
I was also kind of worried that this would be a killer sesh because it’s almost been a full WEEK since the last time I hit the gym. For me though, I always feel like I run the absolute best when I’ve had 3, 4 or even 5 days off. My body is completely rejuvenated and besides, it takes a good 3 weeks or so to really start to lose your aerobic ability.
I’m not saying I want to make it a habit of going a full 7 days without working out, but it was a good reminder that dreading the gym because it’s been “sooo long since I worked out!” isn’t really a legit excuse.

Ben has the week off so he played kept man all day – washed the sheets, tidied up the house, went grocery shopping and made THE tastiest dinner – BBQ Chicken Quesadillas!
YOU remember how crazy this kid is over ‘em!
Let’s be real…I am too. Crispy quesadilla crust, gooey cheddar cheese and smoky-sweet BBQ sauce.
He even turned it into a Tex-Mex feast by whipping up some fluffy Spanish Rice on the side. MMMM.
omg it was so much food – this is what happens when men cook. Or at least, MY man!
Stuffed as I was, I absolutely made room for one of my very favorite things in the entire world – chips and Restaurant Style Tostitos Salsaaaa!!!!!!!!
I remember eating, no lie, like 2-3 jars of this salsa EVERY WEEK in college (oh, college. Where things like that really do happen.) It tastes exactly like the salsa you get at Mexican restaurants…nay, better!
They stopped making it about four or five years ago – when my Mom found out she literally stockpiled 30 jars of it in the pantry – but recently brought it back, and Ben knows it’s my absolute FAVORITE so he picked up a jar for me! It was JUST as good as I remember and I could seriously taste the massive platters of nachos my college roomies and I used to pour this salsa over. Oy.
Ben also surprised me with a choice of dessert.

These babies are the perfect size for a little night cap (but still pack a calorie punch – wowza!) It’s better than a pint of Ben & Jerry’s though, where you know you’re going back for an extra scoop!
I still haven’t figured out which one I’m going to choose…this is seriously like choosing a favorite child. Impossible! I need to find out if there’s a cookie dough ribbon in the BJ’s version, a la Blue Bunny. That will make my final decision, I think. What would you choose?!
While I ponder, I’m off to unpack my suitcase from this weekend. Normally I unpack the minute I get home from a trip so it’s kind of driving me nuts knowing it’s just sitting in my bedroom. I know…issues!
