Oh, hello! TGIF!
I’ve been off dominating my to-do list this morning…
1. Bank
2. Target (Honeycrisps on sale for $1.99!)
3. Kohls (got some new gloves and a workout shirt!)
4. TJ Maxx (picked out a pair of unnecessary black stretchy pants…)
5. Trader Joe’s (self explanatory)
6. Hy-Vee
7. Workout
8. Book (I’ll explain next week – no, I’m not writing one!)
9. Pack (IME and I are off on a weekend adventure tomorrow morning!)
10. PW (I’ll explain, if necessary, in February. No “P” has nothing to do with pregnancy!
)
∞ Laundry. Because it never really ends, does it?
Not included on that list was my attempt to resuscitate the baking project I started last night, which I was going to finish this morning in time for breakfast. Yeahhhh, about that…major fail. I re-started it circa 7am and you’ll know by tonight’s post how/if attempt #2 panned out!
Before I get to lunch – can I tell you how much I HEART Bounce Dryer Bars? You stick them on the inside of your dryer and they act like a dryer sheet, without actually having to add a dryer sheet into every load – which I guess isn’t a big deal, but it’s pretty annoying. Anyways, they last FOR-EV-ER. Got a refill at Target today and had to share. Dig ‘em!
I was HANGRY when I got home from my errands, but knew a workout is in my very near future, so I made a filling, yet light, lunch with some of the goodies I picked up at the store this morning!
I started by toasting up a slice of this Trader Joe’s Whole Wheat Bread.
Ingredient list: win.
Nutritionals: WIN. 4g of protein and 3g of fiber in 1 slice? I’ll take it!
I slathered the toast with some peanut butter (not the almond butter in the picture – there wasn’t enough of it left for toast, but a perfect amount left for OIAJ!) Totally dug this bread, by the way. Dense, chewy, and the perfect thickness.
Also, is there anything better in this world then melty, commercially manufactured & processed peanut butter?
Mmmm, nope! Don’t think so!
I paired my toast with a sliced Honeycrisp Apple.
I debated slapping some peanut butter on these sweet slices, but I don’t like anything to murk of the flavor of my juicy HCs!
Mmmm!!
I’m off to tend to laundry, my baking project and finishing up the other 40% of my to-do list. Trying to convince Ben to stay in tonight and watch Twilight’s Eclipse, out today in a Red Box near you. Cross your fingers for me!

What kind of bread do you buy?
I am seriously all over the board with bread! 99% of the time it’s whole wheat, but the brand ALWAYS varies!

I’m all over the board with bread too! I love trying new kinds, and I really love the bread you had in this post. I like a grainy, seedy chewy bread. I’m quite particular!
I NEED to get that bounce bar!! My dog steals the dryer sheets when I’m folding my clean clothes and rips them to shreds
I buy whole grain/whole wheat bread as much as possible
Oh MY GOSH!!! I didn’t know anyone elses dog did that! Our dog waits by the dryer and steals the dryer sheets every chance he gets!!!
I usually get Ezekiel sprouted bread. It takes me forever to get through a loaf – I keep it in the freezer. Is it sold in freezers in the States? It is in Canada.
I’ve actually seen it in both!
that might be the prettiest sliced apple i’ve ever seen! yum! and i usually try to buy whole wheat bread, but i’ve been making my own lately
One day my sliced apples will be as thin and perfect as yours.
Lately I’m on an Ezekiel 7 grain kick! It is SOO doughy and soft after a few secs in the microwave!
You got soooo many slices out of that apple! I buy Low Sodium Ezekiel Bread! I love it so much!
Seriously, I can’t tear my eyes away from those slices. If that’s by hand, you have a gift! Love the blog.
You can do it too!

I always by the Sara Lee Delightful – its yummy and only 45 cals per slice!
I love bread. Lots. I usually make my own whole wheat to save some pennies, but I love trying different kinds of artisan-esque breads.
I … don’t really buy or eat a lot of bread. I’m not a low-carber, but bread is so calorie-dense that two slices of regular bread eat up most of my calorie allotment for a meal. I’d rather have those calories for sandwich fillings and something nice on the side! So I’ll usually opt for a light multigrain English muffin or a sandwich thin, or a La Tortilla Factory low-carb multigrain tortilla—80 calories, 12 g (!) fiber each. Sometimes on weekends I’ll fix a banana-peanut butter “quesadilla” … very yummy.
I did buy a loaf of Oroweat Healthfull to have around when my father was visiting over Thanksgiving. I’ll have to freeze the rest of the loaf, though.
Teh Husband doesn’t like whole wheat breads, so I make his white bread in the bread machine. It’s cheaper than buying loaves of bread, and much nicer.
i just searched red box for eclipse and it says nothing found? i got excited cause i have not seen it yet!
Ohhhh no, I totally blew it! It comes out TOMORROW!!!
I only buy whole wheat… but we aren’t big bread eaters in this house. Baking fails are awful… I am in the midst of 6, yes, SIX baking projects…. had to check in to read my fav blogs, though!
I usually buy Sara Lee because it’s only 90 calories for 2 slices! You can’t beat that! If I had my choice without paying attention to calories, I would buy Amana potato bread or the kind that is stuffed with nuts and seeds. Mmmmm.
I usually get Eziekiel Bread- love their raisin bread, too. Genesis bread is better (made by the same company) but harder to find. They actually have it at Hy-Vee in Ames but I live in MPLS now and we don’t have it up here. I am trying to get Trader Joe’s to carry it- I tell them about it once a week…
Trader Joe’s also has a sprouted wheat bread that is pretty good.
I am taking the hubs to TJ’s for the first time tomorrow in the cities. Do you recommend a certain location? Are any bigger or newer than the others? I have only been to the Minneapolis/St. Louis Park location and it was very nice, but seemed kinda small.
The more grains and seeds and what-have-you in my bread the better. At the same time, I’m amazed by these thin sandwich rounds that came onto the market while I was overseas. Amazing, especially when I want a sandwich that’s more cheese than bread.
I usually make my own with some help from my bread machine. If I buy it, I stick to EarthGrains or Nature’s Pride. The more grains, nuts & seeds in it, the better!
You are a mad woman! Look at that to-do list: it’s annihilated! You go girl!
As far as bread goes, I typically buy Trader’s as well. I’ve tried several of their varieties but am currently working on a loaf of their 10-grain, which is pretty good. You just can’t go wrong with Trader’s.
I always have a loaf of store brand whole wheat bread laying around. I love pita pockets, baguettes, and any bread from Panera though!
This PW thing is bugging me! Pretty woman? Pastor’s wife? Per week? A man that does anything that a woman tells him to do no matter what it is?
Pioneer Woman – she has a pretty sweet blog!
Wait, are you joining forces with Pioneer Woman in the future?! I love her. Uh, I’m so jealous (in a good way) of both of you, if so.
You need to make your own nut butter! It’s really pretty simple in the food processor. IMO fresh melty homemade nut butter beats Skippy every day of the week!!!!
You have the CUTEST handwriting my dear! Did you know that at kevinandamanda.com they will make your handwriting into a font?! Fun stuff…more for scrapbookers I suppose, but still very neat to say the least!
