Melissani Cave was discovered in 1951 on the Greek island of Kefalonia, and features a sky-blue lake at the bottom giving the illusion that you’re floating on air. Breathtakingly beautiful! (source)

My name’s Kristin and I’m an Iowa Girl! I eat as well as I can with a massive sweet tooth, run as often as I can despite the crazy Iowa weather, and am more often than not thinking about the places I want to travel to!

I did a double take when the image popped up, my grandparents were originally from Kefalonia! Melissani is pretty neat, and soooo cool compared to the Greek heat above ground.
The Greek Isles are the place I want to visit most! Greece was one of the few countries I didn’t make it to when I studied abroad. This looks SO beautiful! Honeymoon, perhaps!
Ooohh…gorgeous. This is favorite so far of the places you’ve posted!
Why all these daily escapes all of a sudden? I really like your food posts…
Hi Emily! The Daily Escape posts are a way to share my interest in travel, and only appear under the “Daily Escape” portion of the website, not on the homepage, so people who are not interested don’t have to view them!
Thanks – just so you know, I didn’t mean it in a rude way. I read you through google reader – and I guess somehow I have subscribed to both.
Oh totally! I need to explain in a post that appears on the homepage what this section is all about too. I was waiting until I had a little archive built up, but I should probably do it sooner rather than later!
Loving these! Makes my traveling heart ache though
You would love Santorini!!
This. Is. Gorgeous.
I was there last summer. So beautiful, the pictures don’t do it justice! And the food! I still have dreams about a fried feta with figs we had on this island.
Thats what im talking about..
