Good morning everyone – Happy Monday to you, and you, and you…and you.
It’s officially cold as H for my morning Mom walks, so today I layered on:
- T-shirt
- Long sleeved t-shirt
- Medium thickness sweatshirt
- Thick thickness sweatshirt
and I was STILL a little bit chilly – eep! I’m holding off on adding a real coat into the mix for as long as possible. The impending winter seems too real if I’m wearing an actual jacket! To make up for the temps, nature provided us an unbeliveably beautiful, October harvest moon to walk under
I broke out the toaster when I got home to warm up my cold paws and toasted the last of my Great Harvest Orange Cranberry bread. I smeared my slices with some of the fresh raspberry preserves I got at Berry Harvest Farm this weekend!
I’ve never had fresh from the vine fruit preserves – and let me tell you – it is scrumptious! I am so glad we picked up a jar!
I also had a creamy, smeared with raspberry preserves Blueberry Cheesecake yogurt.
A fab, fruity and filling breakfast. I dug it.
Lunch has hopped on board the beauty train…look how pretty! It’s an IGE Cobb Salad.
Did you know that the Cobb salad was invented by Robert H. Cobb and was a signature menu item of the Drake Hotel in Chicago, Illinois? Its main ingredients are iceberg lettuce, tomato, bacon, chicken breast, hard-boiled egg, avocado, and roquefort cheese. Mine’s kind of like that, right? Kind of?
In the mix:
- Mixed greens
- Celery
- Cherry tomatoes
- Roasted turkey
- Dried cranberries
I’m getting to the point where I have to have something sweet in my salads. Dried cranberries seem to do the job nicely.
And you didn’t think I’d pick all those Honeycrisps and not have one each and every single day until they’re gone, did you??
Have you ever had a limited supply of something that you have to share with someone, and you find yourself eating it faster than you normally would because you want to make sure you get your “fair share?” Mmmm…I feel as though this may be the case between Ben and I, and our Honeycrisps…shoot.
Well, my bags are packed, I’m ready to go…running after work! Plan = 4 miles + 1 mile walk. Like I mentioned yesterday – this week is going to be a busy one, but I’m trying to get better at making exercise a priority in my life. I’ll always be busy and there will always be something that needs to be done – that will never change. Therefore I need to remember that while there will always be “something else I could be doing” – my health is most important!
Have a great day back everyone!

For me: Ideal = 5. Actual = 3-4. I prefer to get my workouts in during the week so I can relax during the weekend. I know that’s kind of opposite from the average Joe/Jane. Also, for me personally, I consider “working out” to be any heart-pumping activity that lasts longer than 30 minutes. Does your definition of working out differ from mine?
