I’m not sure why, but this song makes me so incredibly happy. What can I say, I dig cheesy 80′s music! Plus I thought this song accurately reflects the current temperature – it is HOT HOT HOT!

Tonight, per my Hal Higdon half marathon training schedule, I was slated to run 4.25 miles and strengthen…so that’s what I did! After work I headed out for a sweaty, but fab, run that went by pretty quickly! When I got home I pulled out my 5 pound weights and did 3 sets of 10 of the following:
-
Bicep curls
-
Straight arm lifts (lift arms with weights in hands straight up from your waist until they are parallel with the floor)
-
Side arm lifts (same as #2, but lift arms out to the side until parallel with the floor)
-
Pushups – yes, I do “girl” pushups. No shame!
Short, sweet and effective – my kinds of exercises!
So I told you earlier this week about those Flat Out wraps I got at the store and I’ve been brainstorming different ways of using them since I picked ‘em up. Among all the options I came up, a Breakfast Burrito sounded the most delicious!
YUM!

First I scrambled up 1 whole egg + 2 egg whites and microwaved 2 pieces of bacon for 2 minutes. Finally, I laid my wrap out, put the scrambled eggs and bacon on top and sprinkled the whole thing with a little cheddah!

This wrap is super soft – almost squishy – I realllly like that texture.

This was perfectly salty from the cheese and bacon – and the fluffy eggs were cooked just right!

You could easily make this as a quick breakfast too – I’m not kidding when I tell you this was ready in 4 minutes!!
For dessert I had part of this plate o’ shame. Yes, it’s true. Ben’s little brother is home from college and his parent STOCK.UP. when the kids are home. I had a couple of the purple and red skittles – I don’t waste calories on the orange, yellow or green - a small corner medium piece of the brownie and 2 twizzlers. I know. However, life is too short to not eat candy. It just is.

So I kind of want to brag a little – we’ve had these country style ribs in our freezer foooooorever, so I decided it was high time I did something with them. So last night I boiled them for 45 minutes and today I baked them for an hour at 325 – and voila! RIBS! I made them for Ben, but naturally I had a bite. They were awesome!!

I’ve never made ribs before so I was semi scared, but these came out great! If you like ribs or have a husband/boyfriend/friend/brother that do – make them this way, they’re super delish!

You guys, check out this picture my mom sent me this morning. I couldn’t stop looking at it all day – it’s soooo funny!

My mom sends me crazy forwards all the time – usually they’re pretty hysterical, containing pictures such as the one above. Other times…well, it’s the thought that counts, right?! What’s your opinion on email forwards?
So what are everyone’s plans for the loooong weekend?! I for one, am so pumped – I have nothing on the agenda! How does that even happen in this day and age?! Friday I want to go see Angels & Demons, but other than that – nothin’ on tap for this girl besides a whole lot of relaxing!! If you live in Des Moines, here’s a list of fun things to do over the weekend. Mmmm yeah…slim pickin’s for sure – though I might hit up the Farmer’s Market on Saturday!
