Good morning everyone!

I can’t get over what a fun weekend I had – I am so sad that it is over! Did I mention that all those girls were also my bridesmaids?! I realized that last night…love ‘em so much :)

So, yesterday after I got back from Chicago, I just couldn’t drag myself out of the house to go grocery shopping. Honestly, I LOVE grocery shopping, I actually think it’s really fun – but yesterday…mmm yep, couldn’t do it. Therefore, today I am scraping the bottom of the barrel for meals!

Thankfully though, the barrel is still tasty :) For breakfast I had a Carrot Cake CLIF Bar that I picked up at Whole Foods on Saturday! I have been wanting to try this flavor forever, so I snatched it right up as soon as I spied it.

WOW – this was just like eating a decadent piece of carrot cake – no lie! I could definitely taste the all-important carrot cake spices: cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. I just love spicy desserts :)

I also sliced up a big, juicy Braeburn apple. I will honestly never get tired of these. I could eat three a day…

Continuing the scrapeage – for lunch I am packing a Black Beluga Lentil + Veggie Toss. One of my girlfriends LOVES these black beluga lentils that Trader Joes carries, so I got some when we were there too! Do you like lentils?

Are you KIDDING me? These little nuggets are nutritional gold, people! PLUS you can eat them hot or cold, so feel free to sprinkle in soups or salads!


Making up the veggie toss was ~2oz of the black beluga lentils and ~2 cups of the frozen stir-fry veggies that I picked up from Costco last week. When it’s time for lunch I’ll nuke the veggies, stir in my lentils and add a splash of a quick sauce I made consisting of soy sauce + couple drops of sesame oil + garlic, onion & ginger powders. Yum-E!



I’m so glad I picked those lentils up – I tried a spoonful of them last night, and they are really, really tasty. Stay tuned the rest of this week to see what else I got from Whole Foods & Trader Joes!

Well we certainly did a lot of walking this past weekend, but I’m ready to get back to my running schedule and am packing my workout bag to hit the gym right after work. I think I’m going to aim for a 5 miler…of course I say this now when I’m bright eyed and bushy-tailed in the morning – after a full day of work it might be a different story. But here’s hoping!!
