TGIF, everyone (and Friday the 13th to boot – muwahaha!) How was your week?
Mine flew by with the help of some pool time with the L-man, and gosh I don’t even know what else has kept us so busy! I’m excited for the weekend though as it’s the first one since it started getting warm out that we haven’t had anything on the schedule. I’ve got a girlfriend in town so I’m hoping to coax her over for some quality patio time with a Sweet Team Vodka Lemonade Mojito or two, or perhaps some Sangria. It’s always a winner. ;)
Wherever you are and whatever you do have a wonderful weekend and in the meantime please enjoy my favorite finds from around the web and beyond in this week’s Friday Favorites!

Favorite woah: Sweet Tea Oven Fried Chicken Sliders with Jalapeno Cheddar Corn Slaw + Crispy Onions. I bow down to Tieghan, the master of crafting the most unique and delicious sounding flavor combos!
Favorite fashion. What a seriously fun little summer outfit. Love the bright gold and aqua accessories, too. There’s a word I don’t use often…AQUA.
Favorite summer: Berry Crisp Oatmeal Cookie Crumble. You had me at oatmeal cookie! Bonus that this sweet, summery treat can easily be made gluten-free, too.
Favorite journey: AE Dairy Tour. Last month I had the opportunity to visit AE Dairy HQ (a Midwestern dairy-lover’s dream come true!) with Join My Journey. Check out my post to read how AE creates new products and how I ate my weight in fresh cottage cheese, which is one of my love languages.
Favorite dinner: Crock Pot Picadillo. A few night’s ago I made Gina’s stove top Picadillo for dinner and it was so awesome. I’m excited to try the crock pot version for a quick, ready-for-me dinner.
Favorite refresh: Banana Chia Coconut Iced Coffee. Every ingredient in this blended cup of bliss is designed to refresh and recharge – including the dollop of whipped coconut-maple cream on top!
Favorite DIY: How To Make a Number Pinata. I’m totally planning a low-key first birthday party for Lincoln (no Pinterest-perfect parties here!) but I am so loving these number pinatas! I might make one just so I can take pictures of him crawling around with it. Then again, maybe we could do that then fill it up with goodies for his older cousins to smash into smithereens. (BTW, LOVING this blog!)
Favorite lick: Dole Whip Popsicles. Creamy, sweet, easy. Totally on board. I’d be tempted to add some coconut rum into the mix for a little adult pina colada popsicle action!
Favorite mess: Extra Sticky Thai BBQ Ribs with Peanut BBQ Sauce + Sweet Thai Ginger Slaw. You guys know how nuts I am for both peanut sauce and ribs (ok maybe you didn’t know about the ribs but now you do. Obsessed!) I think I’m requesting these for my birthday in less than a month (eek…eww…31! Age is just a number…age is just a number…age is just a number…)
Favorite funny: Mila Kunis on “We Are Pregnant”. PREACH!
Favorite sip: Sparkling Blueberry Ginger Iced Tea. An oh-so refreshing summer sip with a incredibly clever sparkling addition.
Favorite project: Easy DIY Firepit. We have a firepit area in the backyard but it needs some work, and really the “firepit” is just an old like, large lantern looking thing. Maybe I’ll ask Ben to craft me one of these bad boys for my birthday. I’m really into requests for special occasions vs gifts. All I wanted, and received, for Mother’s Day (besides flowers and wine, of course) was the completion of a massive honey-do list. Productivity, FTW.
Favorite drool: Skirt Steak Fajitas. I instantly started drooling when I saw the picture of these easy steak fajitas. Can’t wait to make them!
Favorite spot. I am bound and determined to get a couple adirondack chairs for the porch or firepit this summer. Ben says they’re “too comfortable” what with the delightful and relaxing angle of the chair back (this is what I’m working with, people,) but this scene will be recreated!
Favorite devour: Better Than Anything Caramel Stuffed Brownies. Oh. My. WORD!
Have a great weekend everyone!
I always love your Friday Favorites! Have a good weekend!

How to make a numbered piñata, now you’re speaking my language. Why didn’t I think of this? Time to get all crafty.
Loved that video! :)
oh, love these <3 THANKS for featuring me – so so excited!!
And BTW – SO glad to hear that you're not doing a crazy birthday party for Lincoln – we're totally keeping it low-key for Isaac and I'm trying not to feel guilty as I keep seeing everyone else's over the top and beautiful parties!! I keep reminding myself that we're setting a good precedent for alllll the birthdays down the road…
PS – those brownies?? OMG!!
It’s seriously always like the best thing ever to be included in your Friday Favorites!! Thanks for the great start to the day :) :) :)
Haha! That video is so funny!!
Love all these links and thanks so much for in including me…twice! :)
Have a great weekend!
my favorite gift to ask for are the home improvement tasks too. i think i’ve reached my quota for the year with the nursery re-do though, since i haven’t been able to help with any of it…
Your DIY picks today are spot-on. I especially love the fire pit creation! Have a wonderful weekend.
Always love to see what your favorites are! I have a few GF friends and recently came across this recipe with them. May be something to add to what I am sure is a long must try list for you! Nutella, two ingredients, easy peasy and yummy…sounds like a great mix to me!

DYING over Mila’s speech! Haha, this is so true! :) Have a great weekend girl!
Just tried that chocolate milk yesterday! Wish I had a straw, but it was good!!!
I am just loving all the food in this post! The ribs, the drinks, the brownies! YUM!
I learned in yoga this morning that we have a full moon today for Friday the 13th. It won’t happen again until 2049! Kinda cool right?
I love that outfit that you posted! I’m so into bright colors and floral prints. That aqua bracelet is so cute! And those caramel stuffed brownies looks heavenly!!!
Thank you so much for including Today’s Creative Blog
Just wanted to say….I love your blog!!!!
Have a great weekend.
I’m drooling over those sliders and fajitas! I love that firepit DIY. I may have to build one for s’mores.
Regarding the Berry Crisp Oatmeal Cookie Crumble: What would you substitute for the flour? Just a basic gluten free flour blend or something else? I am looking for great recipes for my sister-in-law who will be visiting in August (Iowa State Fair time!!). Thanks so much!
You’re absolutely right – I’d just use a gluten-free flour blend (I have Domata on hand at home,) and use certified gluten-free oats – Bob’s Red Mill brand has some great ones. :)
Holy cow, those caramel stuffed brownies look insanely good. Here are my favorites from the week:
