Growing up we had two vans, Bessie and Red Rover. They were good vans. :)

So I’m on my way to Iowa (Cedar Rapids/Iowa City) and the weather forecast is not looking overly friendly. Is the sun shinning?! You have shiny sun in your photos…..

Amy 06.05.2011
My goodness those pancakes look delicious – I’m putting them on the menu for next weekend :)
I am a serial namer. I name everything from my car (Monty), my phone (Neville), my favourite treadmill at the gym (Burt), and one of my favourite men my life Ralph (my lap top).
Sure, some people think it’s a little weird – but I’m never lonely!
Also I love your blog, I am so happy to have stumbled upon a link from Clean Eating Chelsey and found my way here!

I haven’t named anything, but I know a lot of people who have :)
And have you ever made your own ricotta? Ridiculously easy and sooo much better homemade, yum!

I have two bikes, both Specialized and both ancient. They have taken me many, many miles. The road bike remains unnamed, but the mountain bike/commuter is Brother Trucker after the legendary Des Moines rock band. I bought him for $60 in 2004, and he has never failed to please. In the spirit of Brother Trucker…Long live Alonzo and Eloise. We will see you on the trail!

These pancakes look amazing! I was all stoked after I saw your recipe to find that my fav local grocery store had Krusteaz on sale, then equally disappointed when they were out of stock… I’m off to scour the ‘net for recipe to make the mix from scratch. I love lemon poppy seed and can only imagine what the addition of ricotta does to the deliciousness!
anna 06.03.2011
And, I’ve never named any inanimate objects… maybe I should start?
Katie R 06.03.2011
I’ve never named a bike or a car, but I did name my Garmin watch (Jillian), my Roomba (Lexie), my vacuum (Rebecca), and my bread maker (Sadie). :)

I’ve had 3 cars in my life (long story short, I didn’t start driving till I was 23). My first one was Mitchell after a former Cincinnati Reds player who was a little slow at rounding the bases (my car was a little slow in general!). I didn’t give my 2nd one a name (it died trying to take out a Lincoln Navigator), and my 3rd one is Junior. Car #2 was a 1999 KIA Sephia, and Junior is a 2000 KIA Sephia. I haven’t had a bike in probably 15 years now, although I’ve been thinking I’d like to get one again.

Omg those looks phenomenal! I haven’t always liked poppy seed, but my mom got me hooked on it a few years ago. She goes to the church festivals and buys $70 worth of poppy seed bread at a time!
I have named my bike (Pink Panther) and my old car (Booger) :)

Eloise is perfect! Congrats on your addition!
I’ve never named my car or bike, but maybe I should?!
Michelle 06.03.2011
Please tell us you will wear a helmet when you ride this bike.
Lisa @ Fit in the Midwest 06.03.2011
I named my car, but my bike still needs a name. I think I struggled coming up with one when I got it last year.
I starred your post in my google reader so I can go back and make those pancakes this weekend! They sound delicious!
Enjoy biking around! I know I am trying to use my bike as much as possible because it is finally warm in the midwest!
Manissa 06.03.2011
Aww, cute bike :) You should come to The Netherlands, here everyone pretty much bikes every. single. day! My bike is named Juliet, after Juliet Burke from “Lost” haha! AND THOSE PANCAKES – oh my god. BRB wiping the drool off my keyboard.
