Happy Friday, everyone! :D
Is it just me, or are the weeks flying by at an alarming rate? I swear the older I get, the faster life goes. It’s scary. Stop, time! The only bright side I can see to all of this is that hopefully winter will go by in a flash and before we know it, it’ll be summer again. Yes, that’s right. I’m already looking forward to next summer. Although I started craving Christmas music this week…
Send help.
Anyways, we’ve got some weird weather on the horizon this weekend. Sunny and cold, then warm and rainy. Kind of makes it hard to make any plans. I think if we get rained out tomorrow, we’ll take my Aunt and Grandma to see the new Ben Affleck movie Argo. Looks intense, but I love movies that are based on real events, and Grandma sure does love herself a dramatic CIA thriller…
I hope you’ve got some fun stuff on the horizon too, and in the meantime, please enjoy my favorite finds from around the web, in this week’s Friday Favorites!
Favorite bite: Mini Caramel Apple Pies. I’m not a huge apple pie gal (I usually roll with apple crisp,) but add in some caramel, and make it mini? I’m all over it. :)
Favorite DIY: Halloween Burlap Runner. Spooky-chic, easy, and no-sewing required!
Favorite dinner: Honey BBQ Meatloaf. I don’t know what it is, but over the past few years I’ve become quasi obsessed with meatloaf, which is strange because I loafed loathed it growing up. I LOVE this honey-BBQ spin on this version too.
Favorite bling: Urban Glitz Diamon Stud Earrings. Love these studs!!
Favorite reuse: Colored Mason Jars. I think a row of orange mason jars with black candles and maybe a twine ribbon around the top would look awesome on a Halloween-themed mantle.
Favorite slice: Mini Pumpkin Bread with Cinnamon Streusel Topping. Mini + streusael? Stop it!
Favorite furball. I don’t know what this adorable pooch is doing, and I don’t care. Heissocute!!!
Favorite tutorial: Giant Picture Tutorial. I never knew the option of ordering this giant-sized print at Kinkos/wherever existed. So cool!
Favorite idea: Jalapeno Cornbread Poppers. This recipe is ABSOLUTELY brilliant!!
Favorite wrist flare: Nixon “The Time Teller” Watch. Ben is obsessed with Nixon watches. Think I might join him in his obsession thanks to this bad boy.
Favorite spin: Mini Vegetarian Shepard’s Pie. Great vegetarian spin, and OMG purple potatoes on top?! Gorgeous!
Favorite decor. I’ve seen orange pumpkins hallowed out for mums, etc, but never a white pumpkin filled with bright flowers. Really elegant, seasonal spin.
Favorite ‘do. SIGH. I think I’m going to cut my hair. This is what happens every time I grow it out. It gets below my shoulders then turns stringy, and I remember why I chopped it the last time. Love this swingy, cute cut!
Favorite slurp: Tomato, Basil & Cheddar Soup. Ooo I really like the fresh basil spin in this yummy tomato soup recipe. Looks perfect for fall. :)
Favorite tips: Cozy Color Schemes for Every Room. The cozy literally oozes out of these pictures. Good to have around for when we decorate our next house.
Favorite indulge: Chocolate Chip Lava Cookies. I have been craving chocolate chip cookies like a mad woman this week (made those single serve chocolate chip cookies from last week’s Friday Fave – OMG) but these cookies REALLY take it there. YES, PLEASE!
Have a faaaantastic weekend, everyone!!

I totally have been wishing for summer already too!! When is it going to be 80 degrees again?

I have been following you for a while now and I love your blog. Thank you!

The mini Apple pies are adorable. May have to try them for birthday treats this week to take to work! I felt the same about meatloaf growing up excited to try the honey bbq loaf. Our go to meatloaf recipes at my house are String Cheese Italian Meatloaf and Cheeseburger Meatloaf (think cheese and pickles).

I also have a 30×40 picture of my 6 grandchildren and me in what used to be their old play room! Two are now in college, three in high school and one in middle school! Great memories of the seven of us suspended in time! When you speak of how much you love your grandma, it warms my heart! Love your blog, especially Fridays to see all the neat things you find and share!
Hope you have a great weekend!

I agree – your Friday posts have been amazing and today’s was exceptional!! The mini pumpkin breads with streusel topping put me over the edge. Her post was hilarious as well! So appreciate your hard work getting all your faves in one place each week!! Oh – and the pup is SO cute!! Thank you for putting together an awesome blog!!

I have the Nixon watch! I love it, but the only bad thing about it is that it’s difficult to tell time if you’re in the dark. There’s no contrast between the face and the hands, and it doesn’t light up. But, the tortoise plastic is pretty, and it feels almost like a piece of jewelry.
Love the Friday lists!

Have you tried the bacon-wrapped meatloaf at Americana? SO GOOD.

Drooooool – NO! Must get on that…

I clicked on the link for “favorite do” and I couldn’t find the hair style on that website. How did you locate it? I really like it!
Thanks!
Renee

That apple pie looks adorable and delicious. And that pumpkin loaf…I just want all the pumpkin things.

Thanks so much for including me in your Friday Faves!
LOVE that hair. Ugh.

That little puppy couldn’t be more adorable! Speaking of dogs and Nixon watches.. my ex wanted a 51-30 (SUPER expensive!!) when we got a dog. Since he couldn’t afford the almost $500 watch, our dog was named Mr. Nixon. I always get asked if he’s named after the president. I’d say my pup is better than a watch anyday! :)

So glad you liked my mini pies! Thanks for sharing :)
Marci 10.12.2012
The pies, the pumpkin bread, the soup…. Everything is mini!! I love mini desserts because they feel fancy :) Those earring are absolutely AMAZING!!!

I did a 30×40 print of a map of the US rivers for over our bed. It was a suprise for my husband who’s undergrad degree is in geography specializing in river resources.

That is so cool – and sweet! :)

THANK YOU for the hair pic! I have decided to donate my hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths and am getting pics together of what I like, hoping SOMETHING will look good! I’m nearly 38 yrs old and have ALWAYS had long hair, so I am VERY scared though I too am a cancer survivor (thyroid) and feel good about giving my hair to a charity that it will go to women battling the horrible disease, THANKS AGAIN for the inspiring pic!!
