Happy Friday everyone! This week we were brought back down to reality as temps went from soaring to 80+ degrees last weekend, to more seasonal appropriate highs in the 60s. Eek! Me thinks there’s no looking back at this point. Are you ready? Ben and I are getting our chimney cleaned this weekend so we can build glorious roaring fires when the time comes.
Chilly temps aside, here are my favorite finds from around the web this week!
Favorite feel-good photo. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Favorite salad: Arugula, Mango, Macadamia Nut & Avocado Salad. This looks divine, and juicy!
Favorite find: Clinique Acne Solutions Spot Healing Gel. I’ve told you guys about this stuff before, but it’s worth mentioning again. A bottle lasts FOREVER since you only need a tiny bit, and it works so quick.
Favorite brunch: Jalapeno Popper Quiche. Doesn’t this look heavenly?
Favorite DIY project: Magazine rack/mail sorter. Grab a couple of wood brackets from the hardware store, wood glue and a can of spray paint. Voila!
Favorite dress. Pink? Check. Sparkles? Check. Now can someone just lend me $1100??
Oh! Plus $895 for the shoes to go with. Sheesh! ;)
Favorite front door. This feel like the outside of the Blair House in DC. Cozy. :)
Favorite sneak peek treat: Gingerbread Truffles. Sorry, I had to! I know it’s not even Halloween yet, but if I don’t share some of the awesome Christmasy stuff I’ve found on the web so far, I’ll explode!
Favorite funny. I don’t know why, but I’ve been laughing at this picture for days. Ben think I’m nuts.
Favorite outfit. I have this dress in blue – now I just need those adorable boots.
Favorite party bite: Prosciutto & Frig Crostini. I am obsessed with prosciutto AND fig jam. Put them together on toasted bread? Done. :)
Favorite yummy scent. Try simmering these mouthwatering combos on your stove to make your entire house smell spectacular!
Favorite trip: Southern Utah National Parks Tour. This 12 day itinerary includes a stop in Zion National Park, which I am just dying to see.
Favorite photo. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to grow up in the deep south. I have a feeling this tree and swing would be heavily involved.
Favorite bite: Cake Batter Truffles. You don’t know how much willpower it is taking to not make these!
Favorite simple statement: Droplet necklace. GOSH I LOVE THIS!
Favorite dip: White Trash Dip. I’d make this for the name alone – bahaha!
Favorite look. Sigh…
Favorite baking finds: I’ve been on a massive seasonal baking kick recently (more so wanting to bake, than actually baking…) Here are the items on my GOT to make list! Apple Fritter Muffins
100 Calorie Pumpkin Pie Tartlets
Caramel Stuffed Apple Cider Cookies
Have a great weekend everyone!

The boots that you showed with the dress you said you had are MIA brand, I think. I just bought them at younkers (which may still be on sale.) Here is the link: http://www.younkers.com/shop/shoes/boot-shop/low-heel/mia-pali-tall-riding-boot_426509.html

Ms.S 10.14.2011
That picture of the cat is hilarious!! I’m laughing, too.
My web favorites this week both come from Sleep Talkin’ Man (http://sleeptalkinman.blogspot.com/):
“I’m gonna need about five more arms, three eyes, and an eighth more brain. Yeah. And then I’ll be a one-man X-Box ninja fighting army! Bring it on, bitches!” (10-13-11)
AND
“Oh no. It looks like we’ve got one of those Play-Doh homicides. Poor little fellow never stood a chance against THE MALLET. Call in the clear-up team, this one’s a little messy.” (10-12-11)
erica 10.14.2011

and i must make (attempt) that magazine rack/mail sorter! what a genious idea!!!
Krysta 10.14.2011
I have that dress in rust (or orange … tomAto tomato). And I’ve been applying the zit balm for a week now. Used to work there in college and am a HUGE advocate. The end.
Rachel 10.14.2011
I am pretty sure Foster The People are on Ellen today!
You NEED to go to Zion sometime. It’s spectacular! We passed through one summer and were only there for an afternoon, but we loved it! We hiked The Narrows and it was one of the coolest things I have done in my entire life.
I want to get out my sewing machine (after learning a few things!) and sew everything that is on Pinterest!
Have a great weekend and GO HAWKS!!

Melissa 10.14.2011
LOVE the dress, the shoes, the truffles!!!
Weird question, is it just me, or is that Foster the People song about a school shooting? I mean, it’s really catchy, but the lyrics are questionable . . .
Iowa Girl Eats 10.14.2011
Yeah Pumped Up Kicks is… :/
Jane 10.14.2011
This is from spinner.com. It’s an interview that the singer gave to them. The article was written by Mercy Heimbach. It’s not about a specific event that occurred.
[‘Pumped Up Kicks’ is about a kid that basically is losing his mind and is plotting revenge. He’s an outcast. I feel like the youth in our culture are becoming more and more isolated. It’s kind of an epidemic. Instead of writing about victims and some tragedy, I wanted to get into the killer’s mind, like Truman Capote did in ‘In Cold Blood.’ I love to write about characters. That’s my style. I really like to get inside the heads of other people and try to walk in their shoes.]
Brenda 10.14.2011
Oh gosh! I got to see your favorite front door in person a few weeks ago. My sister, two nieces, and I toured Mary Carol and Dan Garrity’s house in Atchison, Kansas, and it was BEAUTIFUL! I took over 300 photos of the place.
I spotted those inside out caramel apples on the web too. Yum. I also like the looks of all the foods with pumpkin in them especially the pumpkin gingersnap cookies. I bet they make the house smell like autumn.
I like the cooler weather and am looking forward to a fire in the fireplace as well. Mmmmm, fire in the fireplace+pumpkin gingersnap cookies=fall perfection!

Love love love this post. I clicked on about 10 of these links. I seriously think I need to make that DIY magazine holder. I love the fact that no nails are involved!
