Fun Fact Friday:
I’m going to my college’s homecoming this weekend!
I went to the University of Northern Iowa and was one of those people that loved 100% of my college experience. I went into it knowing I would never have 4 more years like the ones ahead of me for the rest of my life – so I lived mine up!
These were the times of…
Mexican & margarita dinners with the girls.
First dates and starting new relationships.
21st birthday parties.
Sorority formals (and lots of eyeshadow!)
Snuggling with your roomies.
Tailgating the day away.
Making lifelong pacts with friends.
HOUSE PARTIES!
And studying, tests, graduating, etc.…minor details. ;)
I’m fairy thrilled that digital cameras didn’t become the norm until my senior year or so – because I was kind of a hot mess in college!
The first time I returned to UNI after graduating, was last year’s homecoming with two of my best college buddies.
I’ll be meeting these same girls later this afternoon for FAC to get our weekend rollin’! There might be quarters involved…
Just sayin’!
I’ve got my UNI gear on…
and I’m off for a weekend of fun, memories, friends and maybe a cocktail or two ;) Seeeee youuuu!!

Where did you go/currently go to college? Did you make the most of it?

Isn’t is it fun remembering old college memories? Have fun at your reunion. I went to UT at Austin (big game this weekend…my Longhorns against our rivals OU). I have great memories (minus the big heartbreak) and I wouldn’t trade them for the world.

I go to Iowa and HECKYES I’m making the most of it!!!

I go to Duke right now, and I am in my senior year–I am trying to savor it!

I’m a junior at Texas A&M University and I love it!
& I can’t believe how fast the time goes by… I don’t want it to end. :)
P.S. My mom went to Iowa and I almost went to Iowa State, and she jokingly said she would disown me! How’s that for school pride!!

looks like so much fun! I’m a native Cedar Rapidian and a fellow Mizzouian (MIZ!) and cannot wait to return to Columbia for Homecoming drinks and debauchery next weekend.

That sounds like SUCH a fun weekend!! I went to IU (Indiana University) and man, I had too much fun. Really, I’ll show you my transcript to prove it! ;-)
Have a great time and enjoy a cocktail or two for me!

I am a UNI grad too! My sorority sisters are all meeing up this weekend for a reunion – and I can’t go :( sick kiddos at home. Love reading your website – I get good “Foodie” ideas – and I laugh at the Hy-Vee products and references to where you live – I lived near there too! Now I am in the QCA – keep up the great ideas!! Maybe we are sisters – ha!ha!

Can’t wait to hear all about it. Take lots of pics and do share when you come back.

Such FUN pictures!
I went to the University of Missouri, and LOVED every minute. In fact, I liked it there so much, I stayed an extra three years to get a Master’s degree! There are things I wish I would have done differently, but I trully cherish my college memories.
Have a great time at Homecoming! Which, if the story is to be believed, was created by Mizzou way back when. :)

Love the pics! College memories are so fun to reminise about. I went to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and I loved it!

Ahhh the college life. I wish every day I could go back! Probably b/c I just graduated this past May. I missed my homecoming b/c I’m in Japan :( tear. But next year, I’ll be headin’ back to CSB/SJU (College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University) in Central MN to show the town of St. Joe that we still got it ;) And quarters is a MUST. Have a blast!
Grace 10.16.2009
Love the pictures of you playing quarters Kristen. The expression on your face is hilarious. I went to Iowa for college, and like you was a hot mess. I whooped it up a little too much at times! I live in Denver now, but I love to back for football games in Iowa City. Lucky for me my parents still live there so I can always call them to come pick my drunk ass up ;)
Amanda 10.16.2009
I went to Augustana College in Rock Island, IL and had a BLAST! Augie’s Homecoming is this weekend as well, but sadly I’m not going. But I am getting together with my college roommates tomorrow for an apple orchard adventure, which will be just like old times. :)
Stephanie 10.16.2009
I went to James Madison University in VA… loved every single second of those 4 years! It’s so funny you did a college memory post today bc so did I! Guess I was feelin’ nostalgic since it’s our school’s homecoming this weekend as well, we just can’t go unfortunately. Hope you have an awesome time this weekend, as p.s. I totally agree about the digital camera comment and the fact that I was also a hot mess those 4 years hahaha love it!
jen 10.16.2009
Looks like fun! I went to UMKC (University of Missouri-Kansas City). My college years mostly consisted of working and going to class. Can’t say I miss it!
Have a great weekend!
Amber 10.16.2009
I went to ISU and had a very similar college experience! Loved every last second and miss it so much!
Gotta love those get togethers! Have fun! :)
Sassy Molassy 10.16.2009
Ooh, sounds like a fun lunch. I too had one of those experiences where i just LOVED college. Enjoy!
PS-I think we all had our ‘hot mess’ moments in college. ;)
Carrie 10.16.2009
I went to Simpson College and had the time of my life! I had the same mentality as you that you never get those 4 years back so make the best of it. I took a couple opportunities to travel abroad, was a writer/editor for the school newspaper and made amazing friendships! Oh, and I also met my husband there, haha. I would totally relive college over and over like “Groundhog’s Day.”
Laura @ FindingAHealthyBalance...after a 100+ POUND weight loss! 10.16.2009
GREAT PICTURES!!!
I was not able to go away to college or even go to college for 4 years…..=(….I am a “community college” girl who always dreamed of going to a “real” College/University like you and having all those fun times & memories like you!
I hope you have a great time this weekend!
