Hi everybody – I’m back!
Homecoming was so much fun – however I am definitely not in college anymore. It was hard for homegirl to hang, but I gave it my best college try!
Friday afternoon we got the party started by heading to FAC on “The Hill”. Did you have FAC at your school? “Friday After Class” is basically an amazing happy hour for college kids…awesome!
Our first pit stop was at one of our favorite spots – Suds – which, fun fact, collects bras. Hold on tight to yours ladies!
We spent the night getting caught up, seeing old classmates, bar crawling and having a great time reliving the good ‘ol days!
Saturday morning we headed to a great little restaurant/bar, Mulligans, to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes continue their winning streak!! GO HAWKS!
I fueled with a Starbys…
And a Ham & Cheese Scramble with Potatoes. SOOO good and JUST what I needed ;)
We spent the rest of the afternoon driving around campus and checking in at all of our old hangouts, including one of the houses I used to live in. It was lovingly referred to as “The Dump” – mostly because, it is!
Here’s my old sorority house – which is now a fraternity house! The sorority had bought a new house my senior year, so now the old one is being taken over by dudes.
Then we picked up some purple and gold bud lights (UNI’s colors!) to sip on while we watched some football and got ready for our night!
Which got started at the place I probably spent the most extra curricular time at while in school: The OP!
Sooo many fun memories at this place – it was really cool to be back!
Every good OP girl knows you have to get 2 things every time you go: Breadsticks with Ranch…
And Taco Pizza!
They were just as delicious as a I remembered. Ahhh, memories :)
I was a perfect angel for the rest of the night…
For the most part ;)
It was so great to see everybody, spend time with friends, reminisce and see all my old favorite spots. GO COLLEGE!!!!!
Ben just picked up some Chipotle for us, so I’m going to go dine and catch Desperate Housewives. Have a great night everyone – back to grown up life tomorrow!!! AH!

Thanks for the UNI pics! I missed hanging out with my sorority sisters – and I really miss The OP! I see by the pics that our sorority houses were next door to each other – until ours moved one street back and your bought a new one. Many good friends from your house too! Crazy memories!! Thanks for bringing them back to mind!
hey! i just found your blog last week and love it! I was extra giddy when i saw that you are a UNI alum…as am i! i played Softball for the Panters and graduated in 2000. I’m from Southern Illinois and i’ve only been back to UNI once since i graduated so thanks so much for the pics! The picture of you on “the Hill”…that is my old apartment building behind you on the right!! The Stein (not sure if it’s still there??) that was our nightly hangout! haha thanks for the memories!

Looks like a fun weekend at the old college hangouts! I think those dump houses are on every campus! Breadsticks and ranch dressing sounds so good!

I haven’t been back for homecoming at my University since I left… mostly because we didn’t have football and its kind of lame. I do know though, that i could NOT go out the way i used to!!!
My school’s team colors are purple and gold too! Love the bud light’s to match :) Looks like a great weekend!
It’s so strange going back to your old college after graduating! In some ways it feels like nothing has changed, but in others it seems like everything has changed!
Ohhh college. It is always fun to go back and relive college for a few hours :). Then you come back to reality…

I wish I lived close enough to my alma mater to experience homecoming. Such great memories there and I get super jealous seeing pictures for Homecoming on facebook.

Yay! IGE is back! I was just thinking…I hadn’t read any blogs or tweets all weekend from IGE.
Glad you had a great time. I miss my ISU days. I would love to go back and have a “reunion weekend”. I just plain love revisiting Ames in general. Loved living there.
