I love the 3/2/1 minute intervals in this routine. The speed is totally adjustable to your skill/comfort level and it makes the time fly. Give it a whirl!

OMG I HATE when I mistakenly hit the “panic” button on the treadmill and lose my time.
That bread looks amazing. Sandwiches with fresh bread are the best!

That reuben looks incredible! I love panini machines and how they make a sandwich look. I really need to get one of those! :)

It was in the upper 50’s here in the Northeast last week, so when I went outside and it was snowy yesterday, I was shocked. Somehow I forgot that winter wasn’t over! I know what you mean about not going back to store bought bread once you have the good stuff–I have been making my own for about two months now and even when I’m feeling really lazy, I can’t bring myself to just buy a loaf at the store because it’s so inferior!

Just a helpful tip…you can make your own Thousand Island dressing. It’s basically equal parts mayo and ketchup with a dollup of pickle relish. Our cafeteria in college would always make ruebens and never had any TI dressing, so one of the cooks taught us how to make it.
Iowa Girl Eats 02.22.2011
I was going to attempt – but I don’t keep mayo in the house!

Chico is the home of not one but THREE Harvest Bread Co. stores and I love them when I fall off the gluten free bandwagon. chico also has Shawntell Newton from the Bachelor AND Aaron Rogers hometown. Ya, you should come here although rumor has it that we’ll get snow all the way down to the valley floor on Saturday.

Kinda an aside, but if you haven’t, you must try TJ’s unsweetened almond milk (fridge section). It is so thick and creamy, I think it out pours Blue Diamond. ;) Fun post, as always.
Iowa Girl Eats 02.22.2011
Great suggestion – I’ll give it a whirl!
Trisha 02.21.2011
Ah, the griddler! I love that thing. I use it alllll the time…and it never fails me :)
Brie 02.21.2011
Weird…I had a turkey rueben and sugar snap peas tonight for dinner. I think I’m starting to read your blog so much I’m actually on the same recipe wavelength :)
Iowa Girl Eats 02.22.2011
That is crazy!
dmcgirl 02.21.2011
I seriously need to budget for a panini maker! Your sammies always look sooo good.
I don’t know if this is true or not but I was told that those little carrots are covered in bleach or something and that is why they turn white when you don’t eat them very soon. They are really just big carrots cut down and not really baby at all.
I think it might be best to get full carrots, peel ’em and then cut’em up. JIC
Have you are anyone heard this?

I have used my Griddler so much much since receiving it for Christmas! I looooove it ;)

I love Great Harvest! If you have not already tried their cookies, I suggest you continue to stay away from them… you will never taste another cookie as delicious and gooey as theirs!

unfortunately I worked at a sandwich shop for three years and was often assigned the task of draining the sauerkraut. Ever since then I can’t stand the stuff…
emily 02.21.2011
OMG, turkey reubans (I don’t eat beef) are seriously my favorite thing ever! Your pressed sandwiches always look so good that now whenever I think of sandwiches I think of you :)

I was a nanny in college for two pre-teen girls. Almost daily after school, I’d take them to Great Harvest for free samples of the low carb cinnamon bread slathered with butter (to die for!) Until one day, we felt guilty for always just stopping in for samples and never buying… so we purchased a loaf of the pumpkin chocolate chip bread. Huge mistake. We bought it so much that the youngest out grew her cheerleading skirt and their father had to ask me to stop taking them there. Oops.
P.S. She’s fine now – hot and young with a rockin’ bod. Her dad has WAY bigger worries I’m sure :)
MightyMite Runner 02.22.2011
I used the choc chip pumpkin bread as my “pre-long run” fuel and easily gained 5 lbs the tail end of a marathon training cycle from it. BUT I couldnt help it, it was so yummy!
Iowa Girl Eats 02.22.2011
HAHA omg – it is so delicious, I wouldn’t be able to stop myself either!
Molly 02.21.2011
your food always has me drooling. seriously. I cant take it.
That muffin looks AMAZING. and could you send me a warm reuben to Minnesota? We have 12 plus inches of new snow on the ground and I think this reuben would go perfect with my pity party for one I am throwing right now.
Hope Iowa starts to see some sunshine :) Ill be back there in May for a wedding!

Wow that sammie looks amazing! I’ve never made a sandwich that pretty lol
Runeatrepeat 02.21.2011
I’ve never had a Reuben, didn’t even know what it was until now :) But totally agree that good bread “makes” the sandwich.
Salah (My Healthiest Lifestyle) 02.21.2011
omg I’m totally drooling right now! That reuben looks so good!
