Lighter Buffalo Chicken Dip is guilt-free. Spicy and decadent, you won't be able to tell it's lighter than the original!
Today I’m sharing a couple of my favorite, lightened-up tailgating recipes to whip up for this weekend’s football game (no matter which team you’re rooting for!). First up, Lighter Buffalo Chicken Dip!
My mouth waters at the mere mention of buffalo chicken dip, but I’m usually dodging giant puddles of butter when digging in – blech. This recipe has NO butter, and is lightened up with Greek Yogurt. It’s sensational!!
There are some creamy dips that claim using carrots or celery as dippers is just as good as using chips – that’s a lie. However, this dip IS just as good with veggies as it is with chips, I promise!
Ingredients
- 6 oz low-fat whipped cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 6 oz plain greek yogurt
- 6 oz shredded chicken
- 10 Tablespoons Frank’s Buffalo Wing Sauce, divided
- 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1-1/2 Tablespoons Ranch Dip Mix
Directions
- To a large mixing bowl add cream cheese, Greek yogurt, shredded chicken, 1/2 cup buffalo sauce, 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, and ranch dip mix. Stir well to combine.
- Spread the mixture into an 8x8 glass dish then top with remaining mozzarella cheese and buffalo sauce. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees then serve warm.

Awesome and easy buffalo dip! Always my go-to recipe. Just enough spice and doesn’t feel too heavy. I can easily eat the whole thing in a day or two!
I am making the buffalo chicken dip as i am writing this. I did not have honey so i used molasses and a bit of sugar for the sweet taste. I also did not have cayenne pepper so used red pepper flakes. for the wing sauce i used sriracha sauce, i tested it before mixing and it tasted good to me :)
Made the buffalo chicken dip tonight for the rose bowl game (sigh, sad result for this wisco fan)~ but the dip was a huge hit! Thanks for the recipe!!
